Stayed at Silver Dart for just one night. Wish I could have stayed longer! The attendant at the front desk (I believe her name was Ann) was exceptional. At check-in she provided me with a detailed map of the property and highlighted all the amenities and even assisted me in making reservations for the Baddeck Gathering for that evening. My... More

A two night stay to ride the Cabot Trail. This Lodge is a perfect location with well-kept grounds and nice clean rooms, all at a very reasonable price. We opted for the meal plan, that included 1 dinner and two breakfasts. The breakfast buffet was excellent, but the dinner not so much. The seafood pasta dish needs to have a... More

The presentation at night!! Neither my wife no either I are huge history buffs, however their evening presentation added so much value to our entire Cape Breton experience. We left the show feeling like we really appreciated the culture and the history of Cape Breton and its inhabitants. We got in to Baddeck in the evening and left in the... More

My husband and I stayed in a lake view room with a king bed and we absolutely loved it! The view was beautiful and the bed was the most comfortable we had on our recent 8-night trip through Nova Scotia. We ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner and breakfast and both were fantastic. The staff was very friendly and... More

We stayed in the Two bedroom loft suite for two nights at the beginning of our Cabot Trail adventure. The McNeil house is old but has charm of the era. If you like new and shiny ......you will be disappointed. It was nice for the teenagers to have their space and adults ours. Staff very friendly and attentive, beds comfy... More

We were wow'd by the views and above and beyond service by the hotel GM. We had an unfortunate situation during dinner occur - our waitress was new and overwhelmed - but it was 100% addressed and immediately remedied on the spot. You can't beat the views from the main hotel building. The room was huge and very clean. We... More

We spent our last 2 nights in Nova Scotia here and wished we could have stayed longer. Staff were friendly. Rooms were clean. We didn't require room service, but requested extra towels and were given a boatload of them without hesitation. Loved having a balcony overlooking the lake that was across the street. Having laundry facilities was a bonus. Didn't... More

Surprised by review saying rooms were a bit shabby. Maybe they just redid things. It is a big place, and some buildings may be in different shape. We stayed in over a dozen rooms in NS on this trip and this was one of top three for comfort and quality vs value. We were in room 28(?) which was a... More

We stayed for two nights at the Silver Dart on a recent trip to Cape Breton. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel seems a bit shabby, in need of some updating (carpets, fixtures, furniture, etc. in the rooms) but the rooms are spacious and clean and pretty comfortable. The best thing about this hotel is its location... More
