The staff were warm helpful hosts. The Baddeck, Cape Breton Island tourist season is just starting. Lots for Shawn, the owner to do, yet he took time to just chat and give tips for visiting the area. Telegraph House gave me the kind of experience I was hoping to find on Cape Breton.

We stayed overnight after doing the Cabot Trail. We had booked a room in the main house and chosen it for its historical charm. When we got there our room was moved to the motel area. My girls were very disappointed. The room was clean and comfortable though. The internet was free as well.

What a dump! Just plain shameful, shabby and not an ounce of our famous Cape Breton hospitality shown. Unfortunately, the only place open for accommodation during a recent severe, horrible winter storm that left us stranded in Baddeck. No concern for guests at all. To get to the reception area and to our room, we had to wade through 3 feet... More

We ate at the inn's restaurant 2 nights in a row- it was that good! Both my fiancé and I have dietary restrictions and we were pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a menu! The gluten free options were especially unbelievable! You must try it! The service was also amazingly attentive and lovely! A superb experience on all counts!... More

We stayed at this motel while attending Celtic Colours in October 2014. The first night we stayed in a two unit cabin which was charming and lovely and spotlessly clean. The only concern was the walls were quite thin and could hear the people in the unit next to us. Luckily they were as quiet as we were so it... More

This was our hotel for 3 nights on a Maritimes bus tour. Baddeck is a perfect location to tour Cape Breton ( Cabot Trail, Fortress of Louisbourg, Rita Macneil's Tea House and the city of Sydney ). This was also inventor Alexander Graham Bell's home. Baddeck was one of our favorite locations on our tour. Telegraph House is an older... More

We stayed overnight on our way off of the Cabot Trail. The proprietor (4th generation family-run operation) was great about helping us get a room the next night in Halifax, which proved more difficult than I imagined. Well situated right in town. Motel room with a refrigerator met our needs.

We stayed 2 nights during Celtic Colours and found the hotel to be clean with a friendly staff but the hotel is not really being kept up nicely. Everything worked OK and it was good to be in Baddeck as it is the center of festival activities. There was nothing really wrong with the hotel but there might be nicer... More

We stayed here two nights. Our room was a bit small for a family of four and in need of cosmetic improvements. The shower was fine. At first we thought the price was a bit steep but then we found just about everything here is a bit on the pricey side. The hotel is in the center of town and... More

The hotel is full of historic charm, very clean and very friendly staff. The rooms were very comfortable. The restaurant, even though it is 100% gluten free, is excellent. Most of the food is local, and all of it is very fresh. If you like blueberries, and it is available, have the blueberry sorbet, I woudl go back just for... More
