We stayed here two nights with a tour group. Our room was in the back..it was nice and quiet. Large room with decent furnishing, nothing exceptional. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Nice breakfast served in the dining room. I am not sure if all guests get a breakfast.

We stayed in the main lodge and our room was hot and stuffy. No AC and only one small window makes for an uncomfortable night of rest. The room was clean bit the water from the shower was almost a trickle. The cover on One of the chairs in our room was thread bare and split. To me it was... More

We stayed 3 nights in July, while sightseeing in beautiful Cape Breton. Our room was a nice size with a double and single bed and good sized bathroom. The hotel was charming and full of historical character, which is why we chose Telegraph House. Staff were friendly and very informative and helpful. There is a great bakery/cafe across the street... We stayed 2 nights in August, sightseeing Cape Breton, which was beautiful. The room was very nice & it had a very good sized bathroom. The service was very good as well. I'd stay there again, anytime.

Initially we were offered Room 3 for our three night stay, which was a bit scruffy compared to the other rooms we could see into - charm without elegance, and was next to the stairs. But we negotiated a swap to Room 4, and apart from noisy staff chatter at 7.30 outside our window each morning, it was great. Telegraph... More

We had one of the queen bedrooms in the back of the hotel (room 18), there were others across the hall that had balconies that were a bit nicer. Overall it was clean, nicely decorated, good option. A bit overpriced at $135 per night, but if there was a good deal I would stay there again. We booked late so... More

We stayed in Baddeck on our way to the Newfoundland ferry. Our room, which was where Alexander Graham Bell supposedly slept, was in the main hotel. The room's decor was dated but the bed was comfortable giving us a good night's sleep. The dining room of the hotel was excellent. It featured locally sourced food, and everything was prepared and... This is a delightful place to stay in the center of Cap Breton. The fifth generation owner's link to area history adds to the charm. Pleasant room, décor appropriate to the style of the place. Also had excellent dinner and a helpful chef who explained the "dry" town which permits the dining room to provide wine, etc., but there are... More

We spent one night here whilst driving the Cabot Trail. There is a main hotel, a motel behind, and 3 cabins. We stayed in one of the cabins. It was simply furnished but clean and quiet. Most importantly, it had a firm and excellent bed. We had a good dinner at the restaurant here, and a nice breakfast at the... More

We spent one night here in late May 2014. My wife was checking local Hotels as we couldn't make the Ferry back to PEI in time. She found this one and called the owner about getting a room for 4 adults. We were surprised to find we had a small cabin to ourselves with two washrooms and a nice little... More
