We spent one night on our way to the " Cape". Lovely people. We had no issues with our room. Breakfast was good with fresh pastry/fruits. The owner was very friendly and really wanted us to return. Would recommend this Motel.

We spent 3 nights at the Trailsman Motel and enjoyed our stay there immensely. The staff went far beyond expectations, the rooms were clean, quiet and very comfortable. Our room overlooked the lake and there was a beautiful outdoor pool available as well. The free breakfast was outstanding and the young woman who staffs the restaurant was very professional and... Traveled to NL for a family visit and decided to stay here before our 1145 crossing to NL. Service is good and room had no issues. TV was a small CRT. View out the back was pleasant. Grounds huge and well maintained. A few good restaurants available nearby. Check operation hours, some close early in the day even though prime... More

We were a group of 4 people (2 couples) who shared a room as we were in for a night. The room was well sized for 4 people with comfortable beds. The breakfast consists of the regular bread, jam, butter and tea/ coffee with some items from a bakery near by (Everything tastes very fresh). Due to the mosquitos we... More

We stayed at this motel for 3 nights while touring Cape Breton. It is actually located several miles from Baddeck before exit 8. It is near to the entrance to the Cabot Trail, but you must travel several miles to Baddeck for restaurants. The room was a good size, but really outdated, though very clean. There was no breakfast due... More

We got there a little late in the evening, originally hoping to make it out of Cape Breton Island, on our way back to Toronto. However, we decided to stay here. We got the room on the end (#52) facing the water and enjoyed the beautiful views until sunset!! Due to some renovations, there was no breakfast available, which is... More

Stared here for a couple of night while going around the Cabot Trail. This place had a nice view of the water, but the rooms were dated and just ok. Luckily they were clean! There was no included breakfast as specified due to some damage through the winter. We stayed May 22-24, 2014 and booked well in advance, so was... More

The rooms are simple but clean. We has two queen sized beds on the water side. The beds were comfortable. The room had a small tv, table with two chairs, a fridge, microwave and few dishes. The bathroom was clean, but basic vanity, the front of the vanity was plywood - but all clean. The breakfast is included and there... More

We stayed at this motel mid-October on a trip around the Cabot Trail. It is an older motel and while it certainly shows its' age, they do keep it nice and clean. Unfortunately, due to age and climate, there is a distinct odor when you enter....quite musty and "old". That being said, it certainly would not be a reason to... More

hi, we visited Cape Breton this year again and stayed again at the trailsman, room was great, view was beautiful, breakfast was lovely with yummy muffins. The only complaints and it's not really one is the pool, it wasn't open. I wish we were told this when booking, so we wouldn't of told our 4 yr old about a pool... More
