A good location for catching the ferry back to Nova Scotia. Rooms were basic but comfortable and quiet. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to do any siteseeing in the area. Restaurant for dinner had extremely poor service. Waiting over 15 minutes after being handed menus and even after ordering waited a long time and restaurant was not even... More

This is my second visit. There are not too many choices when you get off the ferry in the early evening, and don't want to drive a long way that night. This hotel has a captive clientele. I'm afraid it doesn't have to try too hard to keep its customers. It is visible from the ferry as it comes into... More

Granted the hotel was full but the staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful. Room had a fake fridge that was merely a cooler. Not too great if you are packing your own food. Restaurant didn't know how to handle gluten-free. The waitress actually disappeared and a new one eventually appeared.

If you are waiting for the ferry I cannot think of a better place to stay. The rooms are clean, roomy, and quiet with usually an excellent view of the harbor. The restaurant is quite good and peopled by a friendly staff. If departing for the mainland it is your last chance for cod tongues.

Dated but clean, which is most important. Timing is everything. We happen to be some of the first cars off the ferry so when we got to the hotel only one person ahead of me. Five minutes later I turned around and there were 8-10. I imagine checking in can take awhile. There are very few good options for hotels... More

When we arrived there was no record of our reservation even though we had a printed confirmation with a number which did not show up on the computer. After a 15 minute delay we were offered a room which had some shower issues at a $20 discount. The room was fine except it overlooked the front entrance. Right after checking... More

Because of our Ferry delay we were forced to find accommodation in Port aux Basques close to the ferry dock rather than drive after dark to our original destination. The room and bathroom were very 'tight', but every thing was sparkling clean and the beds were super comfortable. We had a tasty meal in the dining room and a very... More

Large clean room. Some of the staff were friendly others less friendly. Remarks were made on a non-working air conditioning and broken light bulb, remarks were noted in the morning but when we got back in the evening nothing had been fixed.

Very convenient place to stay if you are waiting to take the ferry back to North Sydney,Nova Scotia. The place is a little dated but ok as a place to sleep. If you get a room with a harbor view it is pretty limited by the small windows and no balcony. Definitely not worth paying more for the harbor view.... More

Thank you for your comments. The view is a wonderful asset enjoyed by many. Unfortunately not all rooms will have the same view and the guest is not charged extra for the view in most cases. Only rooms that have a panoramic view are charged $5.00 if you want to be guaranteed a view. Glad you enjoyed the new flat... More
