Room was clean and restaurant in hotel was good. However the lady at the front desk was incredibly rude and unprofessional, it ruined an otherwise pleasant stay. Only other hotel in town burned down last week so I guess I will be staying in BnB's instead.

Stayed one night at this hotel. Its old and outdated. But clean and staff were friendly, and it seems to be pretty busy, so the bar and restaurant had the feeling of being alive, although the food was nothing to remember. Its location in the heart of Marystown is convenient, but there are newer motels in the area.

Thanks for your review. There’s nothing we can do about the age of our Hotel but we are working on upgrading anything outdated. Our guest rooms take priority and that’s where we've concentrated most of our efforts but we’ve also updated our restaurant & banquet facilities. This year our lobby & reception area will receive a facelift and we will... More

Terribly rude receptionist and staff....ignorant and unpleasant. I was denied my room first, as I didn't sound as young on the phone when booking my reservation and then demanded to show my id, regardless of being in my mid 20's and have already paid for the room. I've stayed away since my encounter with this staff, and directed my friends... More

Thank you for your review. It’s been to long since your stay to adequately investigate your experience and do apologize if our staff were rude to you. Our staff are expected to treat all customers politely & respectfully but they also have to exercise due diligence at times. If they suspect a room is being rented to a minor that... More

Hotel was nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. The kids and drunk adults yelling and screaming all hours of the night on weekends was not pleasant. The staff moved me to another room and things were better.

This hotel had the most welcoming, friendly staff possible. The room was clean and quiet, the staff helpful with information about the area and directions to places we wanted to see. We would definitely book here again.

I've stayed here before for business and wasn't expecting much more than a decent room to sleep for the night, and that's about all that we got. I travelled with 5 other people, my wife, parents-in-law, and sister-in-law and spouse. We got two separate rooms and slept well enough, which was all we needed really. We only stayed one night... Thank you for your review of our hotel. We are happy to hear your stay was OK but disappointed that it wasn’t as good as you would have liked. Our hotel was originally built in the 1960’s but we have invested heavily in its upkeep and continue to upgrade. A bulb can blow without notice but all it would take... More

We had to stay in Marystown for one night for a soccer tournament. The team choose the Marystown hotel. I wasn't impressed with the pictures and was even more disappointed on arrival. the pros: check in was pretty quick -- we received our keys early and headed to our room. The shower was hot. The cons: There were two towels... More

The web site says the rooms are air conditioned, well that is false advertising. I am travelling with a pet & advised when I made reservations but there was no mention that rooms that were pet friendly were not equipped with A/C. When I asked to be moved they offered a room in the basement, not with A/C but cooler.... More

Our ads & website state “Marystown Hotel & Convention Centre offers air-conditioned guestrooms” it doesn’t state we have AC in all 132 guest rooms but the gap is steadily closing. That’s not false advertising that’s letting customers know we have AC to offer, it's not meant to suggest anything more. No one on our staff should have suggested a basement... More

I recently stayed at the Marystown Hotel for a business trip. Having read the Tripadvisor reviews, my expectations were not high. When I first arrived, however, I thought the hotel was pretty average. While nothing special, the room was reasonably clean and comfortable, and quite spacious. My principal complaint arose in the morning, when I went to shower before my... More

Hi Steve S Your review has been duly noted and on behalf of management & staff I do apologize for the inconvenience you had to endure. Why an apology (at the very least) wasn’t given by our GSR at checkout is very uncharacteristic but a report of your complaint was handed to a supervisor and the problem was corrected immediately....
