Even my curmudgeonly husband succumbed to the charm of hosts Gary and Shelly at Captain Blackmore's Heritage Manor. He's not a huge B&B fan, but we stayed here as part of our hiking trip on the Bonavista peninsula. The yummy made-to-order breakfast and the evening wine and cheese shindigs were a great way to talk to the hosts and other... More

We were scheduled to visit Bonavista for a business trip mid week and were going to stay at another B&B as we had stayed before. The original B&B was closed for the winter and we were recommended to stay at the Captain Blackmore's Heritage Manor. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and the food is to die for. Being greeted every... More

Beautifully restored place, antique elegance and comfort down to the smallest details. Gary and Shelly are gracious hosts with a great knowledge of the area and it's history. Morning coffee enjoying the view from the deck, great breakfasts and lovely evening tea service with all the guests. Couldn't recommend more highly.

This is the perfect bed and breakfast. A warm welcome and a beautifully appointed room. In the evening tea and snacks served so you can learn from you host and other guests the best option for tomorrow. We had a personal balcony where I enjoyed the full moon in the evening and did Tai Chi in the morning.

Gary and Shelley operate a first class B&B. The rooms are very comfortable, the antique furnishings exceptional and the breakfasts were fantastic. Also enjoyed sitting around the dining room table for evening tea with Gary and Shelley and the other guests. Definitely would go back to this B&B and would recommend it to all.

Gary and Shelly are just wonderful hosts. The made to order "full" breakfast is certainly a great way to start the day. In addition the 8:30 get together with fellow travellers gave us the opportunity to meet travellers from other parts of the country. We have never stayed at a more comfortable and friendly B&B.

This place is a gem. Immaculately renovated, beautifully furnished and very clean. We were in the Daisy Keane room with its own balcony and views across the cove. The hosts were very helpful and well-organised, providing useful background about this residence and information on touring the area. Complimentary evening snacks with the hosts and other guests was a lovely idea.... More
