Yes we were the Honeymooners that got lost for two hours on the way there but was well worth it when we finally made it! We were greeted with a cold drink after the adventurous hike in. George and Laura, we cant say enough about you two, you are wonderful people with hearts of gold. You made us feel just... More

We had so much fun with George and Laura at the Hearst Lodge. We were able to hike in along the Big Salmon river while George transferred our luggage, and then ride with George in his 4 wheel drive truck back to our car the next morning. The lodge is primitive, but very comfortable. It has a wonderful great room... More

We dId not stay here, we went for lunch on a recommendation. However, we were welcomed as guests as if we had been there forever. The location is beautiful and the lunch was delicious and home made, and the soup was freshly cooked minutes before our arrival. The dessert was sublime. Laura and George made it feel like you were... More

Laura & George are wonderful people! Would have enjoyed staying at the lodge but were only there for a homemade soup, sandwich & delicious dessert lunch. Laura sat down & chatted with us as we were the last lunch group. The hummingbirds were delightful to watch during lunch!

We had a great hike with friends along the salmon river - great exercise. Upon arrival at lodge we were greeted by Laura with a big smile and a cold beverage, not a moment too soon. Then to cool off we went swimming in salmon pool, a once in lifetime experience not to miss. Laura and George were the best... More

Happened in this place by chance and can't say enough good things about the lodge and staff. Fantastic people and great relaxing atmosphere. Very rugged which takes you back to basics no outside world interruptions. If you get the chance to visit don't pass it up wonderful experience. We will be back next year and will stay overnight.

An overnight stay at this rustic lodge on the Fundy Trail was one of our favorite things on a three week trip! The hike up was not as hard as I thought it would be and doable for a 60+ couple. It was a beautiful hike along the Salmon River with some steep places and a bit of scrambling in... More

No internet No phone (including cell phone) No electricity in the night (but if you will pray to George, he can say "Let there be light" - and it will be there!) But if you are able to exist a few days without phone and internet, this is the best place in the world to meditate in the wilderness with... More

Feeling abundant & plentiful happens when you meet people who are genuinely generous and loving. Laura & George, the hosts of the Hearst Lodge, are all that. What else did we enjoy?: -The adventurous ride with George & his 4x4 to the lodge; -The beautiful settings of the lodge (near a river, isolated in the forest & with lots of... More

Situated in the forest, assessable only by George 4x4 or hike, this is a lodge is in the wilderness. We hiked and the George transferred our gear. A warm welcome, by George and Laura and given a cup of tea. We sat outside enjoying the sunshine, watching beaver in the pool. The lodge is rustic and basic, but very clean.... More
