Staying at a nearby motel and their restaurant was closed. We drove back to this place and they were still open. We were able to get a Lobster Dinner at 8:45 at night. The service was great, the food was delicious and flavourful. The cook did an outstanding job with it being so early in the season. The owner has... More

This is a run-down establishment. At some point, efforts were made to improve the place. The tub and tub-surround looked new, the labels were still attached. However, patching and painting hadn't been done, nor was there any caulking down the side of the time. The toilet needs a new flapper, we had to open the tank to push it down.... More

My husband and I were planning this trip for days. We were all excited getting everything together for our vacation. Everything started when I called to make my reservation. The gentleman who answered the phone was unprofessional, rude, did not want want to be asked any questions, answered yes to everything I asked, but it was a lie. We got... More

There's not much more I can add to the poor reviews this place has received. Our cottage appeared clean when we entered but on closer look we found the cleaning was very superficial. There also were plumbing issues, the beds were terrible and the kitchen was severely under equipped. Our family of four had to share one steak knife at... More

We arrived late, around 8:30pm after driving since 7am (with stops along the way). When we got there, a young girl with no personality came out and looked at me. I asked "Do you have any rooms." She replied, "Yes." <pregnant pause> "Can we have a room?" I asked. "Yes," she replied....with no emotion - a very flat personality. No... More

Close to the Hopewell Rocks, clean and affordable. I had made a reservation for two nights, but they only had me down for one. Just as well, since I wanted to change my plans, so one night was all I really needed. Their restaurant was pricey for the meal I had, so ate breakfast elsewhere. Room was clean, wifi handy.... More

I will start with the positive. Great location in proximity to Hopewell Rocks. New paint and fairly new bath fixtures in our room. The furnishings are out dated, and need to be replaced. The bedding is gross. The worst part was the smell in the rooms. It was a combination of musty and the smell of Raid. At times the... More

We were looking for a place to stay and found Gaskins. Upon arrival, the person I spoke to initially seemed very confused although I had already booked a campsite (for a motor home) and a cabin. I was informed that they would be close to each other. This person then tried to give me the keys to someone else's cabin... More

See "Deplorable" below. I was also in that cottage at that time, and it was all that, plus more. The toilet was loose (yeah, our toilet rocked). The lock to the cottage door didn't work, i.e., if we were inside and we'd close the door, we'd be locked in, but if we were outside and we'd close it, we wouldn't... More

If you decide to rent a cottage, pretend you're going camping. We were assigned to #5. There's nothing there. No kitchen, no dinnerware, to dishes, no cutlery. The bathroom was atorcious. Not cleaned in a long time. Toilet not properly installed and would not even flush bathroom tissue. Sink drained slowly, you could see all kinds of crap in the... More
