Upon walking into the Shorecrest Lodge, we instantly felt a sense of deja vu and almost expected to see Dick and Joanna Loughdon from the Newhart Show walk out to greet us. The warm and inviting atmosphere exuded an old country charm without any pretentiousness. The owner of the lodge (Evelyn), couldn't have been more friendly and treated us as... More

We are always well received by a friendly and helpful lady, the owner of the lodge. She truly cares for her guests. The building is aging but it has a good home feeling to it. The meals are well prepared and served in a clean environment. Give it a try!

Good hospitality. Friendly and warm welcome...but the house needs to be renovated - urgently. It's more the tiny things which need maintenance. E.g. the hangings and the sanitary installation need to be remodeled. For breakfast we had the choice of: coffe/tea, cereals, toast with jam (or without anything else) and a hard boiled egg. No scrumbled or fried egg. No... More

Windows need shades, no privacy. Breakfast was good but dinner very bad and way too expensive. Fish tasted old and seafood chowder had tiny shrimp that must of come from can, horrible! Wouldn't recommend eating there.

This place was everything we could hope for when coming to Grand Manan. From the outside, the building was a bit weathered; however, on the inside it was old, but very, very clean. The room was super cute and very comfortable! I just can't say enough about our hosts though! They were very happy to give us guidance with what... More

My son and I travelled here from the UK in July. As strangers to the area , it was nice to get such a warm and helpful welcome. You have to reset your expectations when you come here. If you are going to rate accomodation on Grand Manan against Hiltons etc then you are bound to be disappointed. Shorecrest Lodge... More

We stayed at the Shorecrest as part of a birding tour. The Island is quaint and laid back, and the Shorecrest fits right in. It was a comfortable, rambling old house with old fashioned flowers and apple trees and a resident pheasant strutting around. The innkeepers, Evelyn and Gunther and their son treated us like Family. The rooms were comfortable... More

Gunther and Evelyn are awesome people! They bent over backwards to accommodate us, giving us everything we asked for. They both have a wonderful sense of humor and easy to be around. We would definitely stay there again! The rooms were very warm and cozy. Everything was clean and tidy. The living room accommodated all of us to sit around... More

This was our second trip to Grand Manan and we knew what this beautiful island had to offer. As you drive of the ferry you can very quickly see what you are in for. The Shorecrest Lodge met all our travel needs. A place where you can feel at home. The building and grounds could use a little upkeep but... More
