Everything about the Hotel Paulin is first-rate and then some. We have stayed here annually for nearly 20 years while attending the Lameque International Baroque Festival, which always includes one evening for a leisurely dinner presented by Gerard and Karen, an event in itself. However, I sometimes wonder why we are usually the only New Brunswick anglophone guests. The others... More

Having read that this was one of the best places to stay in New Brunswick we decided to try it out this weekend (13th June) and I can confirm that we were not disappointed. We were only able to stay for 1 night but it was memorable for all the right reasons. The hotel is a wonderful historic property and... More

We stayed at the Hotel Paulin nine years ago and vowed to go back if we ever passed that way again. Although Karen was away attending personal matters, Gerard more than made us welcome. The rooms are very clean and although the furnishings are new, they have the look of a century ago. We will undoubtedly stay there again, hopefully... More

We have been travelling to Caraquet for almost 20 yrs just to enjoy a 3 or 4 day stay at the Hotel Paulin - one of the last family-owned hotels in the province. It's history goes back over a hundred years. Hosts Gerard Paulin and Karen Mersereau are very gracious to their guests. Each room is tastefully decorated and spotlessly... More

We just returned from another great stay at Hotel Paulin. The room was beautiful with a nice view, a comfortable bed and a large modern bathroom that was spotless clean. The dinner was delicious. It featured local oysters, cheeses and mushrooms. The preparation and service were excellent. The evening was topped off by sipping a liqueur in the living room... More

Built in the early 1900's the Hotel Paulin is still family owned and operated. Beautifully furnished with richly upholstered pieces and the suites expertly decorated, the bathrooms are well appointed with updated fixtures and spa amenities. Our king size bed was supportive and nicely made with a good selection of pillows and covers. We chose a top floor rear suite... More

We couldn’t agree more with that Hotel Paulin combines the best of B&Bs and Boutique Hotels. Rooms are beautifully decorated and well appointed giving it that old world charm and sense of history. Adding to the experience are Innkeeper Gerard and his wife and Chef Karen. They are extremely accommodating to their guests and take that personal touch to a... More

Hotel Paulin combines the best of a B&B and Boutique Hotel. Luxurious decor in a 120 year old hotel. Incredible kitchen. We dined here both evenings. Quiet location set back from the street. Our room had a delightful view of the ocean. Fast, easy-to-connect internet. 3 zones of heat in our suite. Comfortable bed. Charming in every respect for our... More

Just one night unfortunately, but I'll be back. This was a not-quite off-season visit so I expected high rates at this Caraquet classic. What I got was personalized attention to the circumstances of my visit, a rate that was beyond reasonable, and a meal that would literally have been a bargain at twice the price. Such high quality of service... More

Summer would not be complete without a weekend at the Hotel Paulin, a gem of a place in a glorious but unexpected location. The level of sophistication in accommodation and food is matched by the beauty of the Bay of Chaleur coastline. And the friendliness of the owners is genuine and engaging. A terrific spot for enjoying biking, beaching and... More
