Southwind Resort and Spa is located just 5 minutes north of Nanaimo city limits in a forested residential neighborhood on a hillside overlooking the Strait of Georgia. Shelley, Jim, and their black lab, Sara, provide a variety of accommodation possibilities including 2 bedrooms with queen beds and at least one suite for longer term stay. One bedroom has an ensuite (see photo) and a beautiful private garden area with fish pond and waterfalls (see photo). The other bedroom (see photo) overlooks the Strait of Georgia and has access to a beautiful deck and hot tub with the bathroom a short distance down the hall. Jim, Shelley, and Sara are excellent hosts and did everything in their power to accommodate our requests. As Jim’s sailboat was unavailable due to unavoidable delayed repairs, he arranged a variety of alternative boats for us to choose from.
