After reading the reviews on this site, we went to the hotel to check out a couple of rooms. One room was circa 1970s with furniture overturned, and situated on the bed, with a ground floor dungy smell and look reminiscent of a cheap all-inclusive Mexican hotel. The other "rentable" room, that was basically a place that is being sold... more

We booked this 2 nights stay through an internet travel agency, of which we are usually always satisfied. However, this time was different. It is NOT a hotel! The resort is actually a time sharing company, but since they have to fill they rooms up, they offer them temporarily to visitors. The problem is that we stayed two days, paying... more

We just returned from our third stay at Pacific Shores. We had two 2-bedroom condos. The one in the low-rise (2 story) building was significantly larger, but even the smaller unit in the higher (3 or 4 story?) main building was very nice. The units were well-furnished, and we were able to cook a lot of meals with the available... more

May Long Weekend - 2008 We live locally in Parksville and joined RCI at Pacific Shores about 6 years ago. Best Thing We Ever Did! With Pacific Shores as our Home Resort we couldn't be happier. We checked in Friday Afternoon and got ready for a Relaxing Evening. THe Sun was Shining Bright and there was little wind which set... more

We had an end ,1 bedroom unit with a beautiful view of the bay. The rooms were very comfortable as well as the bed. The outside hot tub was something to look forward to after returning from a days adventure. The restaurant was very nice as well as the food. People went out of their way to serve us and... more

We appreciated the surroundings of this beautifully landscaped resort. We are accustomed to timeshare resorts, so there were no surprises regarding the services provided (no daily cleaning, etc). We enjoyed the 2 bedroom lock-off unit which gave our children their own separate space to hang out. The pool, multiple hot tubs, grills, bocce court, wireless internet, shared computers and walking... more

Pacific Shores is a lovely property which is well maintained and has great amenities and a very good restaurant - we've stayed there twice. However, they have just built some new condo style rooms that are nicely appointed, but NOT soundproof at all. We were certain someone was entering our room in the wee hours of the night. We could... more

After reading all the bad reviews I was very nervous about staying at Pacific Shores. A freind had gifted us RCI points, so I knew we would be in the dreaded "B" side rooms, but hey the price was right. When we got to our room, it was better than I expected. As stated in many reviews, there was absolutely... more

We stayed at this resort for a family wedding. It is located on the ocean which is beautiful but if you are looking to be closer to things to do this would not be the place! The resort is nice for kids.....ours loved the playground, pools, and beach. Unfortunately it seems as though the management has some serious problems. The... more

My girlfriend got suckered into the RCI points thing and had a terrible time getting anything so we rejoiced that we could book this when we both had vacation time. Yes we were booked into a notorious 'B" room. We were told it had a kitchenette. This is not true. There was only a coffee maker and a toaster. No... more
