First off the resort is in a beautiful location on Craig Bay. Great for kayaking, close enough to town but far enough away ! We arrived at 905pm and were told they were closed. I remember reading it earlier but didn't remember until we parked. Oops. The desk kid was awesome and checked us in but our room wasn't what... More

From what we expected from a previous Time share presentation, we expected a lot more, but off season, figured maybe less. The room we got was great. Big, clean, comfy bed, room for more, fridge and microwave so what an average couple would need. On an whim left a note for housekeeping and the request was fulfilled but no housekeeping?... More

Frankly, after having read many of the recent reviews, I entered this property with some trepidation. But it was honestly very nice -- decent clean rooms, good sized television, attractive grounds, amiable staff. The only problem with the property itself was that the walls are somewhat thin, so we could hear every shower and every flush from our neighbors. Our... More

We stayed here late December to early January, 2015. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a one bedroom condo, which is really an extension to create a two bedroom condo. This would be fine, if the walls and doors were properly insulated. They are, however, "paper thin", so that you can hear every word that your neighbours say.... More

Where to start. Construction with a detour when you first arrive. A long wait to check-in. Door lock on room doesn't engage. Dirty bathtub and counter top. Small TV. Hologram fireplace. Tepid outdoor "hot" tub is brutal with nowhere to change. Restaurant food is absolutely terrible. Service is inappropriate. They are getting rid of the only nice thing- the aquarium.... More

We had some extra points to use with RCI and booked Nanoose Bay Resort for 4 nights Dec 8-12. We arrived late and in the dark of a huge storm. We enjoyed our room and it had a nice King-size bed and crisp white Bed Sheets. It had a pretend fireplace that was a bit chintzy. The building was gloomy... More

While it's not normally a type of fall/winter destination for us, my wife and I recently spent a week at Pacific Shores which we found to be a pleasant and appreciated surprise. Arriving in the dark after a late afternoon ferry crossing to Nanaimo, we were greeted by a friendly and helpful reception and quickly sent to our 1 bedroom... More

After looking for a romantic one night getaway somewhere in the Nanaimo area I came across Pacific Shores on hotels.ca and was very impressed with the price first of all, and the impression of the resort itself. We booked and had a basic hotel style room in the ‘B’ area, all of which have no water view, but we knew... More

We have been visiting Pacific Shores for over 8 years and after our last few experiences have now decided never to go again. The restaurant and facilities which were initially both great have unfortunately gone downhill. It seems like the new owners are looking to save a dollar anywhere they can. The hot tubs outside are constantly out of order... More
