My Fiancee and my pooch stayed here for one night recently, and it was excellent. I find most hotels make you feel like you are storing nuclear waste when you have a dog. Not so with the Smithers Sandman Inn. Our dog was made to feel welcome and even received a treat upon our arrival. The owner obviously loves dogs... more

My two sisters and two beagles stayed here twice-once on the way to Terrace and the other on the way back. The staff here is very friendly, it's centrally-located (just a short walk to town) and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Although it is a little expensive, it's the only place that takes dogs. more

The king size room was very small. We couldn't walk around the room with two luggage bags on the floor. We had to change rooms because there was a vomit smell on the bed covers and through out the room. The second room had candy on the floor and the toilet had a brown rim around it. Also, the toilet... more

The room the guests were given may have had a smell, but it was not something we were made aware of until midnight. They were immediately moved to another room. The second room did not have candy on the floor nor was the toilet stained, We do not have dirty water in Smithers. They requested a king room and were...

After a long day on the road and facing uncertainty of progressing to Prince Rupert due to the terrible flooding, we arrived at Smithers Sandman in the rain, we all know the feeling, and were welcomed by the owner "Myrna" who after hearing our problem, went out of her way to assist - it overcame any woes we had. Assistence... more

Not a child friendly motel this one! Lots of overnight people on overnight stays, photos of Pets who it is stated are 'always welcome' yet my children were made to feel particularly uncomfortable throughout their stay. Our rooms were allocated right next to the bagel hut which had lots of through traffic at all hours and resulted in us being... more

We stopped in Smithers as it appeared to be around half way between Prince Rupert and Prince George. Smithers does not have very much to say for itself, but it's a pleasant, quiet little place. The Sandman inn was centrally located, reasonably priced, and had availability when we turned up. The room was comfortable and clean (although the view overlooking... more
