We had a super comfortable room on Thanksgiving weekend. The most comfortable bed with clean, white linens. Stunning view and all the amenities we look for. Our only regret is we couldn't stay longer to enjoy the experience.

We booked into the Port Renfew Hotel for a casual Thanksgiving weekend. Two couples, we reserved a 2 bedroom cabin with 2 kings right on the water. Was a bit worried because there had been some sketchy TripAdvisor reviews... but we couldn't have had a better experience. Port Renfew is out on the edge of the world... and the hotel... More

We walked out of a small diner down the road after waiting a long time to be greeted by any staff member. I'm glad we did, because we ended up at the Port Renfrew Hotel for lunch. Lunch on the balcony was perfect on a summer afternoon. Food and service were just okay. A nearby table ordered the salad, which... More

Stayed for one night in a cabin (they are duplex units). Saturday in July and the place was very quiet. Check in was a bit of a gong show. My husband and I asked for a unit with either a queen or king sized bed and twice we were given keys to cabins that were 2 bedroom units with only... More

This is the west coast of Vancouver Island and it's the only commercial accommodation! If you care about where you sleep then the best choice is an ocean front cottage. The cottage was clean, had a kitchenette, comfortable king size bed and easily accommodated the two of us. Four people would be a bit of a stretch! They have the... More

Arrived at about 9:00pm and checked in at the bar. We weren't sure if they would have much going on to celebrate but there was a band setting up - woohoo! We were staying in motel and the first room we were given hadn't been cleaned, but the woman was apologetic and gave us a new room. It ended up... More

We arrived at this "Resort" on a Wednesday in the middle of August and were shocked at the state of the rooms. I came to Port Renfrew a week before with my sister to check out the Avatar Hike and while here stopped at the resort and asked if we could look at a room as I wanted to come... More

We had lunch on the deck in the sunshine. The place seems a bit short staffed as all of the empty tables had dirty dishes and we had to clear ours before sitting down. The bland chowder was contained quite a few pieces of salmon. A couple of nearby smokers puffed away and threw their buts into the garden. The... More

I have stayed in hotels, motels, resorts, and b and b's all over BC and there are some real bad spots. Most of these are in places where the selection is limited and you NEED a place to sleep. Like Port Hardy or Port McNeil. Port Renfrew (the main hotel) however in my mind fares quite well despite the one... More

Our waitress was like a robot on valium. Just basic answers no greeting or smile. Imagine a place where emotion is not allowed. We must have come on Robot day. One word answers things placed on the table and a quick run away. The food was alright (MCdonalds would have been five star dining compaired to this.), took 45 minutes... More
