We drove up to Port McNeil specifically for the McKay Whale Watching. It's clean. Some of the staff were basically friendly but more than half the time we felt as though we were being looked at cross-eyed. The owner of the restaurant was very suspicious acting towards us and only after the 2nd day was he somewhat more friendly. The... More

I stayed here one night before doing a kayaking trip out of telegraph cove and one night before. Everyone was very friendly and very helpful and they kept my luggage safe for a week for free. The rooms and beds are all very basic but I had no problems and it was very close to the bus stop.

I travel often and looked at the hideaway as my home away from home when in port mcneill. I was a tourist in need of assistance. And have never never been treated so poorly. I will not spend another cent in that establishment. And will encourage anyone I know to boycott it aswell.

We went there for a job interview and the hotel was provided. Betty at front desk is very pleasant and nice. Beds are comfy and clean. The owner is nice too. We forgot our personal pillows and they emailed us asking what to do with it. That is a very good customer service. We forgot to ask for a non-smoking... More

Perfect place for business travel. Room and bathroom is well kept. The food in the restaurant is the best around, and reasonable. The early morning buffet is not special, but it does the job, and allows me to hit the road early. The staff are nice, and the price is about the lowest around. Not sure I would recommend this... Our hockey team stayed here for one night in February 2014. Our 9/10 year old team was playing at the local arena for two games which required an overnight stay. We booked the Haida Way as there was not much choice. The other local hotel was not really excited to host a hockey team, and quoted an overinflated price. The... More

We stayed at the Haida to be near family. The room was fine...clean and comfortable, although the cement wall could certainly be made to look more attractive with some creative, simple painting. Because we didn't check in until after 10:30 pm, we didn't realize the toilet was plugged until after midnight. We didn't want to awaken a manager--the front desk... More

We had only one night here, before a business meeting, and then a hasty drive south. Booked on line, a mistake as it negated the special rate that the local Lions Club had arranged. Had never visited Port McNeil before, so were guessing about accommodation. Staff at the hotel were very good; reception especially, and house-keeping and breakfast serving personnel... More

Great hotel choice for Port McNeill. We stayed two nights, over the weekend. The restaurant was pretty key. There are a few options around town but it was nice having food and drink until late. I'd rate it a step up from typical pub fare. (The Bacon Cheddar Mushroom Burger was probably the best thing I had there). Our stay... More

This place is a bit dated but a good value in Port McNeil. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Check in was smooth and efficient. We met here for a trip with Sea Kayak Adventures (which was awesome) and spent the night before and after the trip. The restaurant in the building is outstanding. The bar was fun at night.
