Having visited Hidden Cove Lodge on numerous previous occasions, and having been one of the first to review it, we have read other peoples' opinions and feel it is time to add an updated review. Hidden Cove is a wilderness lodge, which was built by the owners and is constructed of local red cedar which, over a period of time,... More

We spent three nights at Hidden Cove in mid September and were based in the lodge itself. This place is ideal for those seeking to get away from the rat race and it is true that there is no TV /wifi / mobile coverage here. We found this quite refreshing because the access to nature is quite fantastic. The lodge... More

20.09.14 to 23.09.14 A return visit so we know the set up. Dinner was excellent for all the nights we stayed. Dan and Sandra remembered us from our previous visit and were very welcoming. We saw the bear on the beach twice during out visit. We took the Tide Rip tour and as mentioned by others we were picked up... More

We stayed in Cottage no.2 for a week in september and it was really clean and comfortable - in fact it looked new! The lodge itself is rustic but fits into it's surroundings perfectly. If you are after a real get away from it all wildlife retreat this is the place to go; we saw the black bear foraging on... More

We like staying in out-of-the way places away from the crowds. Hidden Cove Lodge fitted the bill perfectly. It's 3km down a forest track. Dan and Sandra, our hosts, were very welcoming. We enjoyed our conversations with Dan about the location, the local wildlife and the local forestry activities. The menu was relatively limited but that's understandable given the small... More

We stayed here for five nights recently on a holiday focussing on wildlife. The rooms are quite basic but the bed was very comfortable and I slept week. It was a little chilly sometimes but there was a wood burner in the lounge which Dan fired up most evenings. If you go to see the bears with Tide Rip they... More

We stayed in the 1 bed cottage for 3 nights during a tour of the Rockies and Vancouver Island, very much focussed around scenery and wildlife. We were somewhat reticent about Hidden Cove Lodge having read the mixed tripadvisor reviews but chanced it anyway. The cottage was an odd looking structure but was clean and comfortable with all the amenities... More

We had three nights here and were mesmerised by its location. We stayed in the main lodge. The room was comfortable but not warm. There was a bath but you could not use it as there was no plug or a tap - so it could only be used for the shower. We kept misding the bear and your best... More

Based on Tripadvisor reviews, my family of 4 booked a stay in the cottage at the lodge. We wanted to stay in the 2 bedroom cottages, but all were booked. I will say the 2 bedroom cottages had a much better view and looked newer. The place could use some serious TLC. Rubbish littered the small cove that even prompted... More

This lovely lodge is in a quiet location and it is easy to find, with lovely views out across the sound. Dan made us feel extremely welcome in his own unique way (!), as did Sandra, they were brilliant hosts. The food was excellent. Our bed was comfy. But as with many Canadian homes, the wooden construction meant that sound... More
