What can I say that hasn't been said already, except to start with our biggest mistake which was only staying for 2 nights. Usually departing accommodation stops at the latest 8am we had to drag ourselves away from HCL at 11. Situated down an unpaved road in an inlet off the Johnson Strait approx 15 minutes drive from Telegraph Cove... more

Hidden Cove Lodge is appropriately named. It is hidden between forest and sea and is warm & cozy, teeming with wildlife. We saw some of the resident bears and deer but thoroughly enjoyed the racoon family that frolicked outside the window every morning while we ate breakfast. The rooms were clean & comfortable. The Lodge also serves dinner which we... more

It was really the highlight of our vacation. What a great place! It’s not fancy, nor deluxe hotel, but you get the full value of your money because of its special location, and the fact the place is surrounded by wild nature, at its highest beauty. Black bear came to visit the yard few minutes after we arrived (and returned... more

We really enjoyed our stay at Hidden Cove Lodge. The setting is beautiful and although we weren't lucky enough to see a black bear, the resident racoon family were a delight and the 5 month old babies oh-so-cute in a clumsy kind of way. Dan (host) was especially entertaining with his tongue-in-cheek humour. The evening meal was delicious with generous... more

Four of us stayed in one of the two cottages overlooking the sea. The cottage was clean & tidy with a fantastic view, which, on one afternoon included a black bear less than 10ft away, he just ignored us but we have him on camera. We ate at the lodge three out of the four nights. The menu was available... more

Sure I won't add anything that hasn't been said in other reviews, but loved this place so much I had to write a review! We almost didn't stay here as it was over our budget, but having read the reviews on tripadvisor we decided we had to, and were so pleased we did. The staff were all fantastic, especially the... more

Hidden Cove Lodge is everything that has already been described by other reviewers and more. We spent 3 weeks in Canada, 10 days in the Rockies, 3 days in Vancouver island and 7 days in Vancouver – there is no question that Hidden Cove Lodge and the surrounding wildlife/location was the highlight of our trip. Dan and Sandra are great... more

I hate to say it has taken me a whole year to write this review but that's a busy life for you... I hated to leave this place. I wanted to stay forever. It is a wonderful place to stay. Not great luxury but comfortable clean and what a location and welcome. We stayed in the small cabin in the... more

We stayed three nights at Hidden Cove and I have to say it was the highlight of our two week holiday to Canada. We stayed at the lodge specifically for the grizzly bear and whale watching tours (which were excellent) however there was an abundance of wildlife to be seen at the lodge itself including bears, racoons, otters and deer.... more

Glad my husband and I decided to stay here this past July. Beautiful, isolated setting, but only 10 minutes from Port McNeill. Enjoyed the wildlife, the sunsets, breakfast conversations with friendly and funny Dan. The room was not fancy, but clean and had everything we needed. So much to do nearby: whale watching, grizzly bear watching, kayaking, seaplane flights. The... more
