You will love this lovely lodge. Friendly and accommodating. Good dining options. We liked hiking the trails in back of the lodge. Thank You Paul and Donna Marie for a good memory to take back to Minnesota with us! Kim & Dave

The restaurant is housed in a rustic log cabin built in the 1920s. Out on the veranda soaking in the beautiful mountain scenery, we had a delicious evening meal. To start, my husband had the soup of the day -southwestern chicken noodle soup - it had a comforting and enticing flavour. The entrees were done to perfection: lemon dill salmon... More

Last weekend we were returning home from a 3000 mile motorcycle trip and road past this quaint little spot. Upon seeing the beautiful cabins we turned around and decided to see if they had a cabin available for the night. We were delightfully surprised when they said they had one available! Our cabin had a fireplace inside which we lit... More

After exploring Banff and falling in love with the Canadian Rockies, we decided to drive South through Kootenay National Park towards Radium Hot Springs. Although we were equipped to tent camp, the weather was colder & rainier than we were expecting, so we were on the lookout for a cabin to rent. We almost sped right by this gem. I... More

Every year we make the trip to Kootenay Park Lodge to enjoy the beautiful scenery and access to the outdoors. The smell of the forest here is incredible - I wish I could take it home with me! The cabins are the historic originals with wood burning fireplaces and cozy quilts on the beds. The setting is gorgeous - a... More

In August 2013, to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, we chose to return to the Canadian Rockies so we could revisit places that hold special meaning for us. This meant that a stay at Kootenay Lodge was a “must”. As a matter of fact, we planned our vacation so that we could return to this place that stands in contrast... More

We were travelling from Radium to Calgary yesterday evening at around 6:30pm when three of our friends felt the need to pee. We were so relieved when we saw the lodge sign and decided to stop by the Kootenay Park Lodge. Unfortunately, the staff members didn't allow them to use their washroom and was told that there's a public washroom... More

We stayed in cabin 9. I was told by the owner that this cabin isn't rented because it's the oldest but he made an exception since I was looking for a pet friendly place close to the mountains. It is right by the highway (93) and, although my cabin was in the very back, it was a bit noisy during... More

After enjoying the spectacular drive from Banff along Hwy 93 (turning south at Castle Mtn from the Trans-Canada), stopping here feels like a retreat. The older, very rustic, and cozy cabins are set well back from the highway in the woods. The 'glamping' option, for those like me who like a hint of urban finish, can be enjoyed by the... More

Loved this sweet little lodge! Nestled into the trees, this was a peaceful retreat for the evening. Staff was super nice and friendly. Our lodge was one of the newer ones - beautiful. The only thing I would have liked was a tv in the room, but I can totally understand why they don't offer this. We will stay here... More
