We stayed at this motel for a second time this year, while visiting relatives. It truly is the nicest place to stay in Grand Forks, just on the outskirts of town with property running down to the river. This hotel has history, (it is older than many others in town) but it is being lovingly maintained and gradually upgraded by... More

We stayed here based on reviews from other travelers. The motel is older and the floor slopes (at least in room 7.) It was clean and had a comfortable bed. The wall mounted air conditioner was noisy so we turned it off--it didn't have a thermostat so it ran all the time. However, after turning it off it was too... More

The Robinson's are just fabulous, we were there for my 50 year school reunion, and were treated like family. We had a king facing the river and everything was very clean, and we were happy to have stayed there 2 nights, the pool was great, it was outdoors, and on a hot day was great to cool off without it... We stayed one night on our way to the coast. We chose the town because it was roughly half way and we chose Johnny's because of the trip reviews. The room was clean and ideal for a good night's sleep. They were very accommodating when it looked like we would arrive late. Johnny's is now on our for sure stay... More

Located just past the river in the east side of town along Hwy 3, this old motel is clean, neat and outfitted with great beds and quiet rooms. The back of the property is lawn right next to the river. People were enjoying the picnic tables and barbecue grills that are available at dinner time. It is a very relaxed... More

We had never been in Grand Forks before and chose Johnny's from Tripadvisor recommends. It is motel but so sweet! and the owners/hosts are very welcoming and delightful. We stayed 3 nights and had #6 - one of the rooms with patio doors - and actually cancelled some plans at the end so we could just sit on our little... More

We had an excellent two night stay in July and have re-booked a three night stay in August. Enjoyed the pool and the river - an added bonus to be at the outskirts of town to really enjoy the ambience. Even had a place to wash our bikes! The hosts, Clive and Nicky, were very accommodating, aimed to please and... More

When I travel with a group of friends we always look for an old style motel where we can hang out outside with the convenience of being right outside the door of our rooms. This location was perfect, the back of the hotel has a nice grassy area along the river with picnic tables and bbq's available. It was exactly... More

I normally do not write reviews but have to add our positive review to the growing list. We stayed this weekend at Johnny's Motel and were treated to excellent service by friendly staff. The room was clean, the AC and pool kept us cool and the grounds were neat. The owner runs a motorcycle friendly place, providing a bucket and... More

I stayed at Johnny's this weekend and was very impressed. The owners are delightful and the rooms very clean. Some rooms even have a carport. I loved being able to sit outside and have a morning coffee and enjoy the river view. Shopping, restaurants and are just a few minutes walk away. I would definitely stay at Johnny's again.
