This was the third time I have been here but the first in summer. All thee times i have stayed in the large chalets. The drive is long and the road is fair no matter where you come from but is definitely worth it. Very beautiful country. The food served in the dining room was top notch and enjoyed my... More

My wife and I had passed the resort a few years back on our way to one of our all-time favourite backpacking trips in the nearby Taylor Basin (Tyax offers ATV tours there). We returned with our three-year old for three nights and were absolutely delighted! Tyax has some campsites a little removed from the hotel and at $ 30... More

We travelled to Tyax via the road from Lillooet. We were in a normal car and found the journey fine. Yes its gravel at times and narrow in a few places but if you take it easy it is fine. On arrival they immediately insisted we sign a disclaimer absolving the hotel from responsibility for all mishaps, even those caused... More

We stayed here for 1 night during a touring holiday. The resort and location are absolutely stunning - but it's very isolated and make sure you're prepared for the roads getting there. We had a 4x4 but the drive from Lillooet takes several hours on twisty roads, often with a sheer drop and no crash barrier. At least 30 miles... More

We did a 6 day bus tour with Jackson Tours of which the last 3 nights were at Tyax resort. We took the bus from Lillooet and arrived 2 hours later. The weather was quite warm for late September. The road coming up was winding and had 2 stetches of gravel road, but our bus managed to get up there... More

I cant understand why people complain about the road. We have been there twice, the first time over the "easy road" which is no problem if you take it carefully and then out over the Hurley, and the second time we went in and out over the Hurley. Surviving the Hurley is more likely than surviving the North Circular Road... More

The 'best' 'road' into Gold Bridge runs from Lillooet and for large stretches it is a glorified dirt track where you drive along the edge of a mountain on a surface of mud and gravel - praying that a logging truck does not come hurtling towards you on a narrow road. We managed 20km of the 105km and turned around... More

After a hard 2 hour plus drive up a gravel track in a vehicle that was not really suitable for this sort of drive, we arrived at this beautiful, giant log cabin. Unfortunately we only had two nights to enjoy this outstanding place and the full day we had at the resort it rained non-stop! The room was surprisingly spacious... More

After the initial shock of the road condition from Lillooet (partial gravel track in places!), we arrived at this wonderful remote resort in the middle of the mountains. We had 3 nights with a lovely room and balcony overlooking the Lake. There was no coffee maker in the room but coffee and tea were always available in the lounge (even early... More
