We decided last minute to stay in Alert Bay and were warmly welcomed by Tono at the OceanView Cabins at the Alert Bay Resort. We arrived on the Island on a Sunday and word to the wise nothing is open on Sunday's in Alert Bay - no stores, no groceries, no restaurants - so eat before you go or bring... More

We had wonderful two nights. Peaceful and welcoming place. We were looking for salmon fishing. If you go to the famous touristic spot for fishing you will pay triple the price. I found this Alert Bay Resort, Jasmine at the check in, hooked us up with aboriginal gentleman named Porgi. He took us to ORCA II. It wasn't a dinky... More

We stayed in one of the cabins (rental RV's) for two nights and had a great time. The owners are super nice and helped wherever they could. The views to they bay are beautiful. The resort caters mostly for people who go salmon fishing, there are no childrens facilities (playground etc). But our little one found another three year old... More

We arrived to some chaos at check on August long week-end the ownership or management had changed hands 4 days earlier and the cabins were overbooked. Jasmin did a great job of accommodating the 3 different families/groups and we were very comfortable during our stay. The location is quiet and peaceful. We made use of the fire pit one evening... The cabins are in a nice location on the north side of Cormorant. They are very quiet and it is an easy, short drive to the town of Alert Bay. They are clean and well equipped. The owner was very friendly although it took a couple of tries to find him onsite.

We stayed here twice - August long weekend 2012 and 2013 for the Alert Bay 360 kayak race. The cabins are equipped with everything you need, they are very clean and cheerful. The service is great and we were made feel welcome and at home. Tono went out of his way to help with everything we needed. Saturday night he... More

If you're looking for peace and relaxation this is the place for you. Situated at the far end of Cormorant Island, right beside the hiking trails, I felt a sense of supreme calm at Oceanview Cabins and could have stayed much, much longer. In addition, the service is astounding, the beds are very comfortable, the kitchen complete, and the showers... More

We were in the 'northern' part of Vancouver island. We were put up at the Oceanview Cabins and were impressed with the cleanliness and cheeriness of the cabins. All you needed was there. We had all types of weather that day, but it was March and unpredictable.

Don't get me wrong, I had a good sleep every night I was at Oceanview but the ocean view included a giant shrub as well as trees blocking the view of the actual ocean which was about .5kms away. Had I known the view was as such, I would've paid the lesser amount for a non-ocean view cabin BC they're... More

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2011

We stayed two nights in August 2011, but wish we stayed longer. We would absolutely stay at Oceanview cabins again. We stayed in one of the two bedroom cabins at the top of the hill. The bedrooms each had a queen bed, dresser, and side tables. There was a vanity mirror in each, too. No AC (typically no need), but... More
