Went to Alert Bay for work and stayed one night at the lodge. What a great welcome! It reminded me of an international hostel for it's chilled out atmosphere. But, it's a very professional operation. As others have said, the food is great. Had the pork shoulder which was amazing. I wish they would have told us that ordering in... More

What a great place this is. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the hospitality of Jen and Giacomo ("Jack"). The rooms are well equipped and spotless. Breakfast is included and a real treat. The best part of the stay were the dinners prepared by Jack and Jen. Salmon, slow roasted pork shoulder, carbonara, we enjoyed it all. A three course... More

My family and I had the pleasure of dining at the newly opened Alert Bay Lodge. The ambiance of the dining room was an unexpected surprise as the view from the street is quite deceptive. Inside diners will find an inviting atmosphere complete with quality furnishing and a world envied view of Johnson Strait. In short the Italian food was... More

We were greeted by Jack and Jen who were the most charming hosts. The room we stayed in was clean, and very comfortable. This is a bed and breakfast so we had breakfast which was delicious every morning. Jack also is a great chef and by request he also fixed us dinner every night. Reasonable prices and great food. Duke and Honey... More

Jen & Jack, the couple that run the lodge made our stay exceptional! The food was superb - try the pulled pork - it is so tasty! After our first meal there, we didn't bother going anywhere else for food. Pizza and pasta all made in house by Jack who is from Italy! Jen made delightful citrus gelato and another... More

My 3rd time this year staying at this lodge. The new hosts are great. They welcomed me as it was my own home, and the service was excellent. Jac makes the most delicious food all from scratch. I would go back to the alert bay lodge scritly for the food. The rooms are well kept, very spacious and clean. Can't... More

The Lodge is probably the best place to stay. Breakfast alone is worth the visit. Rooms differ and walls are thin. So if you are a light sleeper, come prepared. The general room is totally cool and has a fireplace, comfy seating areas and a deck. I spent hours just watching the eagles and ravens. One night we gathered driftwood... More

We visited in mid August, and the island was quite quiet. The welcoming atmosphere of the Alert Bay Lodge was wonderful. Ian and Sarah provided a great orientation to things to do and see in Alert Bay; their hospitality was extraordinary, personable, humourous, and very informative. Hard to believe this is their first season working their. The breakfats were absolutely... More
