we stayed there for three nights. never saw one cleaning person the entire three nights. no fresh towels, coffee, or garbage emptied. and they changed the room rate, and wanted only cash, or extra charges. this has been reported to CRA.

We have owned and operated our small motel in Ainsworth Hot springs for the past 33 years and have been giving out coupons to our guests that entitle them to a 3rd night free on their next visit, effective from November 1st thru to March 31st every year, valid on cash sales only. When this guest called to reserve only... More

My husband and I needed a break from preparing for this coming winter. We again decided it was time to go SOAK and BREATHE at the Hotsprings. The wonderful part of our journey was our stay at The Mermaid LODGE AND MOTEL. Clean, Warm and well appointed Kitchen with everything you could think of. Pet Friendly !!! If you need... More

The place accepts pets which is rare. Convenient 3 minute walk to the hot spring pools. I could see people in the pool from our room. The motel is showing signs of age though so if that bothers you, don't get the rooms at the back.

Unit 7 had only a hook latch leading to the balcony and the door did not close properly. Large brown stink bugs were coming in through the door crack, which apparently come from the cedar trees. I could not keep them out. After sitting in the room and reading for awhile, we could not keep on top of the bugs... More

We are sorry this guest did not enjoy her stay with us but we did explain that this time of year we have a certain kind of flying bug called the Cedar Bug that flies in from the surrounding Cedar trees and tries to come in for hibernation over the winter months. We do not have any control over these... More

We were fortunate to stay at the Mermaid, with our small (9 pound) dog, as almost nowhere can you find a place that accepts your pet! The owners are wonderfully friendly and easy-going, and we had an adorable kitchenette, could keep groceries and cook. The bed sheets were sateen cotton, so clean and fresh from the clothes-line! We sat outside... More

The place needs a little keeping up, but come on know you are in the mountains. What do you expect! The owners are very friendly!!!! Next door to the hot springs, and a place to sleep is all we really needed. Also for a very good price. we only use the room to sleep in and were gone all day.... More

This hotel desperately needs some updating and a secure patio door that actually seals and has more than a chain lock would be nice. Anyone who wanted to could pull that door open with little effort and rob you blind. The owner was pleasant enough and gave us free towels so we didn't have to rent them which was about... More

OK... so you don't get free pool passes. Whoopdeedo. You pay far less. And you have a kitchenette. We used the barbecue twice. Wifi was a bit iffy because of the storm, but that's really not why we were there! Very nice to have a separate bedroom, balcony, actual kitchen table and chairs. And Neil and Marsha are amazing hosts.... More

Great value room in an older fashioned motel. No frills and no service i.e refresh coffee or make beds from leaving our room in the morning to returning at night. OK for us but kind of expect more in today's competitive market. Lovely owners who accommodated our early check in request at no extra charge. Towels were nice quality but... More

This is an older motel but the kitchenette was stocked. The room was very clean and the beds were excelent. We would stay there again. It is also just right next door to the hot springs. The Dougherty's.
