We last stayed and ate at the Gunton Arms two years ago and returned this time as a party of 8. We greatly enjoyed ourselves the first time round and this time was just as good, if not better. The setting is idyllic, and the interior majors on shabby chic. Plenty of comfortable seating in three lounge areas, and a... More

What a fantastic place! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definitely go back again. The layout is spacious and the tables are a good size. There are lots of other rooms off the main dining room too, so although it was full, it didn't feel at all crowded. The staff are friendly and helpful with a ready smile. There... More

This is a tough one to review because it is unlike anywhere I have stayed before. In many ways it is a pub with rooms. Or a restaurant with rooms. It is rustic and traditional in style. Mostly.. The huge cooking fire, modern art and the herd of deer grazing at the front make it rather different. Overall, we enjoyed... More

We have just returned from a two night stay at The Gunton Arms. It is our second stay and it was just fabulous. We stayed in Parkin a beautiful room facing the front of the building with an eclectic array of furniture and accessories and a luxurious bathroom with period bath and separate shower. Wee had dinner both nights a... More

From arriving and seeing the herds of deer in the grounds to relaxing in front of the fire on the battered old comfy sofa with a pint, this place was an excellent experience. Quirky and cool art, which I'll let more knowledgable folk describe to the relaxed atmosphere. Six nations rugby on in the bar, that I kept sneaking out... More

This has to be the most origin restaurant in Norfolk. It is worth a visit just to admire the art. We were captivated by some of the works. Some is shocking in a fun way. The food was first class. My steak was one of the best I have had recently. Not many vegetables but a carnivore's delight. The service... More

Lovely evening spent at the Gunton... fantastic building, decor and drinks. Unfortunately when going to the smoking area, my husband having seen others use this door, unknowingly went through the restaurant and was told very abruptly by the waitress/ restaurant manager that this was not allowed! Shame about the rudeness but other than that, a lovely place.

My wife and I recently spent a weekend here and we couldn't recommend it more highly. The rooms are decent value (not bad size wise for the price), clean and the shower in our room was excellent. Often rooms in pubs can be a bit scruffy and noisy, but the one we had was great. The resident area in the... More

On arrival we were not greeted and felt like a fish out of water, however we placed ourselves in front of a lovely fire and went to the bar and ordered a cava which was not very cold. After a while we went into the dining room and had a window seat in the elk room watching the deer in... More

My girlfriend and I visted in early Jan for an impromptu drink on our way to North Norfolk. We loved the atmosphere of the place so much I decided to take her back for a surprise birthday meal. All the staff and service were excellent especially George and his colleague behind the bar. On learning that it was my girlfriends... More
