We booked the Kosgoda Beach Hotel through Mercury Direct staying for 18 nights from 25th July 2008. The hotel was almost empty when we arrived, the staff couldnt do enough for us. The food was great, if there were less than 20 guests then we would order from a menu, if more than 20 guests then we had a buffet.... more

Stayed at Kosgoda Beach Resort 17th June for 10days. We had a great holiday, met up with a lovely couple from Swindon. Stayed here 17 Jun - 2 Jul with hubby and daughter. Lovely hotel and setting. Couple of problems. I got acute gastroenteritis and ended up on saline drip in our room,hence had to cancel our trip with Mercury rep to Kandy,etc. He gave us quite a runaround before getting our money back and had not enquired at any time how... more

this is no way a four star hotel! more like a 2 star. problems with my room included: Shower not working and hanging off the wall AC not working at all in 23C heat during the night snowstorm on all the TV channels and only 1 englidh channel. TV channels not as listed in the welcome pack. over-run with ants... more

The Kosgoda Beach Resort is vercy nice small Hotel direct in the Beach. around 100 m away from the Galle Road. A nice place to relax. Nothing wrong with this hotel. Great rooms, beach life, staff, and good food that changes every night. Staff here made our stay very welcome and could not do enough for us. Try the Spa, good treatments and cheap too. Just avoid Dylan the villian beach boy for tours. He will meet you on your first night using the placed turlte... more

Although it was quite a while since we went to the hotel, I have to say that I could not reccommend it high enough. The accommodation, food, service was excellent, we had a wonderful wedding, with the kandy dancers and elephant ride. Everything was well organised from start to finish. On my birthday i was given a lovely birthday cake.... more

We love this area and normally go when England Cricketers are there. But we shall be back before they return. Our first visit was in 1972 - no hotels then only Government Rest Houses - but a beautiful county and friendly people down south. We discovered Kosgoda Beach in 2003 and made many friends.
