We felt so lucky to begin our Sri Lanka trip at Ging Oya! The setting by the river is very peaceful and everything (grounds, bungalows, dining area, pool) is thoughtfully designed and beautiful. The bungalow has a/c, fan, mosquito netting and a plug-in mosquito repellant, a small safe, and a very pleasant semi-outdoor but private bathroom. The pool is very... More

I stayed here for two nights before I flew home and it was a welcome relief after Colombo. The place is absolutely magical and so relaxing. Besides venturing out for dinner one night, I was more than happy to spend all my time here. The setting beside a river is stunning, Myrjam and Leo are wonderful hosts and the food... More

We stayed at Ging Oya Lodge for the last two days of our holiday in Sri Lanka after reading about it in the Lonely Planet. The beautiful riverside setting and swimming pool were lovely. The lodges/rooms were big and had air-con as well as an outside private shower and drying rack. We hired bikes and went into Negombo town which... More

The location quite near the airport makes it all too easy to only stay for a day or two. don't be fooled, this place is worth a longer visit. Very peaceful setting, lovely food and a great swimming pool

Stayed two nights on arriving in Sri Lanka. The friendly owners arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport which is about 35 minutes away. Even though it was 2.00 in the morning Leo showed me to the room - an attractive detached bungalow in the gardens. Meals are taken in their open sided dining room near... More

Stayed here when we first arrived in Sri Lanka. What a great induction to this great island. Leo and Myrjam were wonderful hosts. Each chalet is delightful, the setting just beautiful and the pool great. Eating breakfast in the dining area is wonderful and so pleased we opted for Leos dinner on both evenings. Myrjam arranged for us to be... More

Wow what a great little lodge with 7 bungalows which are private, spacious and clean! The location at the river is fabulous. There's a wonderful pool and the beach is close enough too! I just loved the tranquil vibe of the place, the perfect spot for me to chill after buzzing Mirissa. A big yes for this place!

We had another great stay in Ging Oya lodge after a two year gap. It was as beautiful and as relaxing as previously and the perfect start to a holiday in Sri Lanka. All aspects of the stay eg food, hospitality etc were great , but I would like to particularly highlight the value for money. Although the cost of... More

The warm welcome given to us at 6am at the start of a very 'special' family holiday revisiting our birthcountry following a 58year absence set the tone for the rest of our visit to beautiful Sri Lanka. We spent two days acclimatizing to the weather conditions and travel weariness. The lodges all set amongst the jungle on the banks of... More

Really good place to start or finish a Sri Lanka trip, just a half a hour from the airport. We started our holiday here in the beginning of November, in the tail of the rainy season, and could really acclimatize by relaxing by the nice swimming pool. We enjoyed the animal live around us, including the cow and the dogs.... More
