My partner visited the Lodge last year and has been talking about it ever since so i'm really pleased we managed to stay for a few days after visiting the bottom of Sri Lanka for a week. It is very convenient for Colombo airport. The grounds were much more spacious than I realised, the lodge was huge, Its hard to... More

I stayed in the Ging Oya Lodge on two occasions in January and February 2014 on arrival in Sri Lanka and on departure. I had stayed in a wide range of accommodation in Sri Lanka and this was undoubtedly the best value I came across for the standard of room and facilities. The bungalows are very roomy with a large... This place is a joy. Set alongside a creek, the quality of grounds, cabana style bedrooms, facilities (fantastic pool) and accommodation and its tranquil but convenient location (40 mins to airport, 5 mins to beach, quick tuk tuk to Negombo) with free use of canoes, bikes etc, delicious breakfasts, snacks, set dinner.if required, all add up to remarkable value for... We stayed only for one night (02/02/2014), but it was so perfect! You can ask anything to them, they are so friendly! I am a very difficult eater but their food was just perfect. This is a place where you can have a great time, you can relax by the nice swimming pool and take a walk inside the area... More

A 20 min drive from the airport, this peaceful spot proved to be the perfect place to start off our two weeks in Sri Lanka and a good reason not to go to Negombo. Hosts Myrjam and Leo are warm and helpful, their food is tasty and the bungalows nice. Good value for money.

A warm welcome in the most stunning environment. Great value in lovely coloniAl style bungalows by the lake. You can take the kayaks and paddle down to the lake and come back for a beer by the pool. We ate here every night and it was good value. Def recommend for first or last few nights in SL- thank you... More

Incredibly peaceful hotel to wind down at the start of our holiday. Myrjam and Leo and their daughter have created a little oasis by the river. Accommodation is spotless - everyone has their own little 'villa' - food was great and the pool was lovely too. Short drive from the airport and a short kayak to the beach. Thanks for... More

We enjoyed our stay at Ging Oya. The surroundings are very peaceful with the river running through the grounds of the lodge, and we enjoyed a fun canoe trip where we spotted giant water monitors, mongoose, herons and kingfisher. Our room was actually a detached chalet-style 'bungalow' - very large and comfortable, and the grounds, particularly the large pool, are... More

Right from the start I was made to feel so welcome by Myrjam and Leo. My accommodation was a beautiful bungalow set in the middle of a tropical jungle right on the banks of the river. The swimming pool is a good size with really comfortable sun beds which I spent a lot of time relaxing on! There are five... More
