Stayed for 3 nights. Really nice staff, Jörg is very helpful getting activities organised. Food is great. Building and rooms are beautifully restored. Recommend giving yourself at least 4 nights to explore all the area has to offer! Book in advance and try and get a top floor room.

We visited Ibo Island during our travelling throw Mosambique. This hotel is really a gem on this smal and upmost interesting place. Used to be a ruin few years ago, the recent owners changed the house to very nice hotel with all the animities you should required including the pool and well stocked bar. We spent there just three days,... More

The lodge has a nice garden and a pleasant enviornment. The staff are welcoming and pleasant. Food was good. The management booked boat transfer from/to Quissanga/Tandanhague - only place that offers this on Ibo! Go for the mangrove walk, and spend some time in the Quirimba island. Good grilled fish at the local restaurant. Ask for rooms at top floor,... More

I stayed at Two Trees for three days in May 2014 and was super impressed. My room was beautiful and clean with restored antique furniture and a cool open bathroom plan with a comfortable queen bed and patio overlooking the back courtyard of Two Trees. The owner Jorg could not have been nicer, super helpful to me and really enabled... More

We loved this hotel! We stayed for a couple of nights in May and would have wanted to stay longer if we had the possibility!! The room was everything you see in the photos on the website: large, clean, and very comfortable with a large balcony area and comfortable chairs to relax and enjoy the sunset. The pool, the lounge,... More

Ibo island is one of the most beautiful places in the world that you should visit. I came there to look for peaceful moments, away from the crowd and noise, it’s exactly what I was looking for. It’s a memorable place where I can find connection with myself, the nature, and get to know new people. I was enjoying the... More

The first thing to know about Ibo is that there are no beaches on the island... but don't be put off! Breathtaking beaches with water as clear as glass are short excursions from the island (but budget $25-50 / day to take a guide or a boat to get to them). The beaches we saw were utterly perfect. The island... More

Ibo is without doubt the most lovely place I have visited in Mozambique. Incredible history all around you. Miti Miwiri is in an amazing building too, but could do with some general cleaning, everything felt dusy and musky throughout our stay which is something that I really dont like. The food was very good but not quite enogh to keep... More

We stayed in this truely, well kept and well run place in September, 2013. We enjoyed this peaceful, serene place very much. The rooms, the garden, the bar and restaurant... the whole Setting is perfectly done and one can very easily wind down. Next time I will definately stay longer. The Island itself is like a living hitory book. There... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Miti Miwiri which in the local language, means "Two Trees", is located at the heart of the old town. Surrounded by nature and mango trees, impregnated of an imperial atmosphere that reminds the old Portuguese colonial rule, is the perfect place to begin your African experience and to explore the Quirimbas Archipelago; embracing its virgin islands, its turquoise waters, its golden beaches and a Mwani culture still proudly preserved. Our lodge is located on the beautiful Ibo Island, the most famous amongst the thirty coral islands that make up the untouched and wild Quirimbas Arquipelago.Ibo Island, Quirimbas capital for centuries, considered culturally and historically one of the jewels of Mozambique, known as the little sister of “Mozambique Island” because of their architectural similarities, is located in the central area of the islands, or in the heart of the archipelago, just 45 minutes by boat from the mainland. ... more   less
