This was our second stay in the last two years. We had a great time and the staff was great! We ate downstairs at the Hodo restaurant and the food was superb. I had the filet and it was like butter! We then went over to the lounge and they had Jessie Veeder playing. It was a excellent show and... More

People wondered why we went to Fargo in February, but hitting my 50th of 50 states was worth it. People were so nice and the Hotel Donaldson was a great way to get the trip started. Rooms are great! The happy hour had a number of great local beers from Fargo Brewing Company as well as excellent food. The HoDo... More

We stayed in Room 8. Art was gorgeous, room was very quiet, turn down service included the best chocolate truffles known to man. Foodgasmic!! The social hour was lovely: delicious, pasteurized cheeses and fine wines, fruit and artisan breads. Served daily, gratis, from 5 to 6. Staff helpful and friendly.

My fiancé and I stayed at the Hotel Donaldson to culminate our long Columbus Day weekend in Fargo. After a Saturday at the Fargodome and a Sunday drive to Northwood, we indulged ourselves to a night at the Donaldson. I was blown away. First off, there was a free bar service at check-in. We stayed in room 17, a room... More

My wife and I looked to spend a weekend together before the birth of our first child. We live in the Fargo area and hear about how great the HoDo was. It is an amazing EXPERIENCE that was worth every penny. The room (every one is different) was just the beginning! The daily 'happy hour' with complimentary drinks and cheese... More

This is an interesting 'boutique' hotel, with a major issue with noise. We were in the room directly above the bar, which afforded us a front row seat at a blues show happening below us. This room also strangely had a double bed, very odd in a boutique-type hotel. We were then moved to another room right by the check... More

Stayed at the Hotel Donaldson and had a very good experience. Restaurant is serving food that is of the quality of a Minneapolis or Chicago. Enjoyed our entire meal especially the use of local ingredients. Service was friendly and quite professional.

Our family had 3 rooms here over the weekend. It was bitterly cold so the greatest thing was being able to run to different restaurants and bars within a block of the hotel. They try to be "fancy" but some of the "fancy" things they do border on weird. I also found an earring on the floor that wasn't mine,... More

We stayed at the hotel for a wedding/New Year's Eve and were extremely pleased by the experience. The staff is wonderful and accommodating (Katrina, especially. Though everyone we encountered was great) and the hotel is well-laid out and nice to look at it. I cannot recommend the HoDo enough. We tried the room service, the bar and and the coffee/wine... Just one complaint: It's noisy. It's not the hotel's fault, either; the noise is coming from outside at the bars. But when you factor in the INCREDIBLE chocolate truffles they leave on the night stands, the incredibly comfortable beds, the artwork and the delicious food, The experience is fantastic. :)
