I have stayed at Hotel Donaldson twice, once in Guest Suite 17....with the most wonderful tub that sits in the middle of the room and fills from a faucet in the CEILING!!..Yes I said it, the ceiling...and the biggest room the Guest Suite 10..and yes it is remarkable with a 2 person whirlpool in the floor. What a find. This boutique hotel is something you'd expect to find in Manhattan or Boston. The room was lovely. My only complaint was that the lighting in the bathroom was poor. The most exceptional thing about the hotel is the food in its restaurant, which was amazingly good. I had several meals there, each better than the last. more

The Donaldson reminds me a little of Ian Shrager hotels I've stayed at (St. Martin's Lane in London and Clift in San Francisco) - except much bigger, more comfortable rooms, much smaller bill, and no attitude. I like the Donaldson a lot better. I've stayed at the Donaldson three or four times but always end up in the same room... more
