We stayed here twice in September 2009; room 222 both times. The room was immaculate and beautifully furnished with many Victorian antiques. The innkeeper was friendly and helpful, and not “in your face”. Much has been said in the other reviews about the breakfast, so let me address that here. Breakfast is pre-made (coffee, juice, bagel, fruit cup, broccoli quiche)... more

After a week with our extended (daughters, their mates and grandfairies) family making it 10 people of various sizes in a rented house in Avon on the Outer Banks, my wife and I opted to head back to Ohio via Winston-Salem in order to visit some friends there. Upon our arrival, this being an older house, the walls in places... more

I normally write good reviews because I follow the advice of tripadvisor members and have been seldom lead astray. This time, I have a mixed review. This may be partially do to the fact that I recently read a book talking about taking ownership and having exceptional service. I am now noticing how service is not often given. For starters... more

We have stayed at a number of B and Bs, hostels and hotels and this is one of the best for atmosphere. It is very private. As mentioned, it is not for socializing, as breakfast is left in your fridge, unless you order french toast. The quiche was delicious though and the fruit and yogurt were good too. We didn't... more

I must be very careful with this review to do no injustice to this place. There are b&b’s where you mix with the innkeeper and other guests. I prefer such b&b’s and this one is another kind of b&b which does not make it a bad place, it’s just different. You don’t mix with other guests and the innkeeper leaves... more

We loved our stay in this historic, gracious B&B. Our room had a spacious bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. Candles & bath bubbles thoughtfully provided. Sound system has speakers throughout the suite. The beautifully furnished dining area leads to a private deck. The sitting area & bedroom area are luxurious. The flat screened TV is Apple TV, lots of CD's... more

Be careful when you book with Summit Street. When I booked the gentleman told me there was a one week cancellation. He did not mention any non-refundable deposit. When I cancelled with well over one week notice (seven weeks) the inn charged my credit card a $25 charge per night ($75 as I had booked 3 nights). I contacted the... more

We made a return visit to the Summit Street Bed and Breakfast Inns as we journeyed to Winston Salem for our daughter's graduation from NCSA. Wife and I rented the attic room in the one house and our younger daughter (in her early 20's) stayed in a single room in the other house. Both rooms were excellent with very nice... more
