We stayed overnight for a quick Valentine's Day getaway, being local to the area. We had a very enjoyable experience. Linda greeted us warmly and gave us a complete "introductory tour" of the facilities. Sherry (an experienced cook and ex-caterer) did a great job preparing breakfast in the morning. Amazingly enough, only they and one other person run and maintain... More

Old Salem is a remarkable area, featuring architecture and re-creations of what life was like in the 18th Century. There is a gun-makers shop, a craft workshop devoted to trades such as cabinet-making, a vintage bakery and several attractive gift shops with Moravian artifacts. Workers and guides in authentic costumes roam the streets and man the craft centers. As for... More

We stayed at the inn for a quick getaway in January. If you like historic buildings with a feel of the past , this is for you. We stayed in a room with a king bed , it had a roaring fireplace , with two chairs facing it where we could sit and relax . The only thing the bathroom... More

Thanks so much for your review. I remember your visit and enjoyed our conversations. You did mention in your review that the furniture at the inn had the feel of antiques, but were not so. You might be interested to learn that all the furniture at the Zevely is part of the Old Salem collection, designed by N.C. artist Bob... More

The person I traveled with had a dairy allergy and I called a couple weeks in advance to see what their breakfast menu was. The chef was very adamant that no accommodations could be made, that the guest would have to make do with what was available as the chef had no time in the morning to do requests. The... More

Thank you so much for visiting us in August. We really enjoyed having you with us! I did check your reservation and I regret that you did not mention your traveling companion's dairy allergies at the time of the reservation. If you had, we would have told you that we're are unable to prepare special breakfast orders, and then you... More

We just spent two night at this Inn. We enjoyed our stay there so much we are already talking about returning next year. The room was comfortable, and the food was delicious. Linda, the inn keeper, was a most gracious hostess. The location is ideal for touring Old Salem.

We look forward to your next visit at the Zevely Inn. As I may have mentioned, we are in the process of redecorating the inn room-by-room, so you may wish to try one of our other guestrooms on your next visit. More

I loved my recent stay at this B&B. I have been here several times. Thinking it would be fun to post some pictures, I took some photos of the rooms in between check-ins. The kind gentleman cleaning the rooms graciously allowed me to do so! So make sure you look at the pics! They took some time to take! HOSPITALITY~The... More

We just returned from North Carolina where we visited our son for Wake Forrest's parents weekend. We almost never stay in B and B's, but all of the hotels were booked. I'm sharing this because we are new to Bed and Breakfasts. Old Salem is charming and a treat to stay in. Like Williamsburg, the people dress in period pieces... More

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The innkeeper, Linda, was extremely helpful- from my call to make a reservation through our departure. She helped me pick the perfect room for us, made wonderful suggestions for places to dine and get a picnic lunch to eat on the Blue Ridge Parkway, gave us clear directions to places we were... More

Can't express in words how much I enjoyed your visit and breakfast room conversations. Last week, a friend and I went to Blowing Rock and as we traveled up the mountain, I was inspired to get onto the Blue Ridge off of 421. What a delight to encounter a doe and her triplets along the way! The leaves were spectacular,... More

We almost decided not to stay because of some of the prior reviews but I am so glad we did. If you are expecting modern, this is the wrong place, but if you like charming, quirky, relaxing, old world charm then doesn't get much better.

This was our first visit to the inn and they did not disappoint. Being right in the heart of the historic district, we were able to take in the sights without having to get in the car again and after 5:00 PM, we felt like we had all of Old Salem to ourselves. We stayed in the Summer Kitchen Room... More
