I decided to stay overnight in Old Salem just for the fun of it. This is the only B&B in Old Salem Village. It could not be in a better location. You are almost right across the street from The Tavern Restaurant, where on the wknds, you need reservations to get a table. The B&B also has a few spots... More

Winston-Salem has two distinct personalities, and Salem definitely represents the old world, 17th century variety. Cobble-stone streets, quaint buildings and shops, Moravian churches and dimly lit streets at night, and perfect for strolling back through history. Now, the Zevely Inn belongs in that period, with its brick facade and early American decor. There are modern hotels in the area, but... More

We enjoyed our night here, in the Henry Pitticord Room. We were warned about the steep staircase up (and she's right!) but it was manageable and the room was lovely and comfortable. A/C kept us cool and we slept well in the bed. The innkeeper was friendly and hospitable. Breakfast was tasty and there was a wide variety of food... More

My husband and I hosted an historic sewing weekend at Bethabara and the Inn was our sanctuary at the end of each night. The patio was perfect for lounging and enjoying a relaxing evening with friends. The fresh baked cookies each night were a nice bonus! The Innkeeper and our chef were top notch, efficient, friendly and very approachable. The... More

This was a remarkable Inn! The room was beautiful, the food delicious and the hospitality exceptional! It was a five star weekend for our group! We give them a high recommendation as a bed and breakfast for a first class stay.

We stayed two nights in the middle of a road trip from Ohio to Tennessee via N Carolina. Unfortunately we managed to be in Old Salem only when all the attractions were closed, but we were thrilled that the B&B was so central, so we could wander the historic streets and enjoy all the spring blossoms. We were warmly welcomed... More

We stayed overnight for a quick Valentine's Day getaway, being local to the area. We had a very enjoyable experience. Linda greeted us warmly and gave us a complete "introductory tour" of the facilities. Sherry (an experienced cook and ex-caterer) did a great job preparing breakfast in the morning. Amazingly enough, only they and one other person run and maintain... More

Old Salem is a remarkable area, featuring architecture and re-creations of what life was like in the 18th Century. There is a gun-makers shop, a craft workshop devoted to trades such as cabinet-making, a vintage bakery and several attractive gift shops with Moravian artifacts. Workers and guides in authentic costumes roam the streets and man the craft centers. As for... More

We stayed at the inn for a quick getaway in January. If you like historic buildings with a feel of the past , this is for you. We stayed in a room with a king bed , it had a roaring fireplace , with two chairs facing it where we could sit and relax . The only thing the bathroom... More

Thanks so much for your review. I remember your visit and enjoyed our conversations. You did mention in your review that the furniture at the inn had the feel of antiques, but were not so. You might be interested to learn that all the furniture at the Zevely is part of the Old Salem collection, designed by N.C. artist Bob... More

The person I traveled with had a dairy allergy and I called a couple weeks in advance to see what their breakfast menu was. The chef was very adamant that no accommodations could be made, that the guest would have to make do with what was available as the chef had no time in the morning to do requests. The... More

Thank you so much for visiting us in August. We really enjoyed having you with us! I did check your reservation and I regret that you did not mention your traveling companion's dairy allergies at the time of the reservation. If you had, we would have told you that we're are unable to prepare special breakfast orders, and then you... More
