My husband surprised me for our anniversary to a trip to the Graylyn House. Upon arrival, we were so ecstatic about seeing how beautiful the house is. It looks just like a mini castle and the grounds are beautiful. We were greeted immediately by the most polite woman. She showed us in to the house, helped check us in, and... More

We stayed at the Graylyn for two nights in July. My daughter, Sarah, left her purse in the room, and $100 was stolen from the purse, while we were out of the room for a short period of time. I met with the manager twice, and spoke with the security person three times. I was assured that an investigation would... More

We booked this hotel for my wife's 60th birthday and were not disappointed. We were greeted at the front entrance and were in our room in less than 5 minutes. The staff was very friendly and the valet parking meant the rainy day was no big deal. The desk clerk told us we had her favorite room (Room 213 in... More

Here for a strategic planning retreat that began Friday evening with cocktails and a tour of this impressive mansion. Our "butler" was well informed and able to answer questions. Dinner was excellent and expertly served by an attentive staff. Some burned the midnight oil in the bar...I went to bed. My room in the Mews was comfortable, handsomely furnished with... More

Perhaps the most beautiful grounds of any hotel I have ever stayed at. Responsive, but unobtrusive service. Very comfortable beds and rooms. I loved just wandering around the grounds and buildings (although it would help if it was warmer outside). I can't wait to bring my wife here. I did not eat dinner or lunch here, but the dining rooms... More

My husband and I needed a one night escape. We chose Graylyn because of the proximity to our town. We both love older, historic, homes and Graylyn fit the definition of both. It is a beautiful old home with gorgeous grounds. Living in NC we were aware of the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, and also Bowman Gray School of Medicine... More

The grounds are gorgeous, breakfast is excellent, except the staff cannot make hot tea actually hot, the free ice cream is a fun concept, the staff are all very friendly and the free shuttle to local restaurants is handy. The rooms are all unique and some are truly luxurious, but some are damp, others in desperate need of updating and... More

If traveling to Winston-Salem, NC, this is THE place to stay. Fabulous property with drivers to cart you where ever it is you need to be. I felt like I was staying at a private manor house. Will not ever stay anywhere else!

This is a great property to stay at if you will have some time to linger on the property. It probably makes less sense for the hurried business traveler. Stay in the main house if you're able, and take plenty of time to linger in the common spaces and stroll through the grounds. It's also a short walk from Reynolda... More

We stayed here for a meeting we hosted for a group of 2 people. The accommodations were wonderful and the service we received was excellent. We hosted dinners two nights and the food and service for our group was great. The attention to detail and personal attention was greatly appreciated. This is an old mansion, the eldest in town, but... More
