We stayed at a suite at the Mews. It felt old and musty, and a little claustrophobic. Could definitely use an update. Overpriced. Otherwise, the grounds are beautiful. And there's not a lot of great options in W-S, so this one is probably as good as any.

The castle and the surrounding buildings are amazing. We stayed in the Mews and it was so delightful. The gift shop is open 24 hours with free ice cream. My daughter loved the ice cream while I sipped a Rose one evening. The service is exceptional. When we arrived Barbara greeted us with a huge smile and open arms. She... More

Arrivign at Graylyn Estate gives the feeling of comfort, elegance, and perfection. Its castle-like appearance makes one feel as if traveling back in time to a medieval era. Guests are always greeted with the warmest smiles by the staff and everyone is there ready to assist. This Estate is just beautiful and very different from other hotels. It has unique... More

The entire estate is simple beautiful. The grounds were immaculate and clean, the main building is historic and amazing, and the additional lodgings were comfortable and updated. My wife and I enjoyed the four course meal that they served for dinner, and the breakfast was amazing. They have bicycles on site that you can take for a ride around the... More

My daughter and I stayed only one night. When we first arrived the gentleman at the door was helpful and very friendly. When we got to the front desk I asked what restaurants they had, hoping to sit down and have a nice dinner after our 6 hour drive. The man at the desk said that we did not have... More

What a wonderful place the Graylyn Estate is. It's more like living in someone's mansion - Downtown Abbey comes to Winston-Salem. Impeccable service - an amazingly delicious breakfast buffet - the best I have had at any hotel. Stay in the main house otherwise it's a schlep to get there. I want to roll out of bed and go down... Wonderful setting for girl's getaway--beautiful and unique accommodations, attentive service, delicious evening meal overlooking the Graylyn gardens, plus it was convenient to Reynolda Museum & Gardens and shopping. Second floor rooms in the manor house are slightly more but are larger and some have unique original features like marble fireplaces and antique bathroom tile. I hope to return on another... More

One of the best values and some of the finest service I have ever experienced. Seemed like every 2 minutes or 20 steps, someone was checking in to make sure everything was perfect. It was. Ever staff person was friendly and professional. Out suite room was charming but updated, comfortable and immaculate. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. I am hoping... More

Our Board has used Graylyn for long range planning sessions for over 20 years. This historic home, now a part of Wake Forest University, was built by Dr. Bowman Gray, the founder of the medical school that bears his name at Wake. Wonderful, cordial staff; fantastic food; charming and historic venue; and amazing accommodations. Take a step back to the... More

My husband and I just spent a night here on a mini anniversary trip while wine tasting in the Yadkin Valley. The grounds, manor house, and the Mews building were all GORGEOUS and extremely well kept. Staff was very friendly. Our room was quite comfortable with a wonderful bed. They ever offer a custom pillow menu, although we didn't take... More
