Dirty rooms, surly staff, horrid food, smelly and severely dated meeting facility. You should avoid this hovel at all costs! more

I have never had such a bad hotel experience. Filthy rooms and bathroom, ugle acting front desk, no bellman, restaurant hostess let me stand for several minutes waiting to be seated and a practically empty restaurant. She looked right at me and turned away! I tried to get the manager to call me, but he never did. Obviously I will... more

I travelled to W-S for a college reunion. The Hawthorne offered an exceptional group rate which included their breakfast buffet featuring eggs, bacon and waffles as well as the usual cold fare (yogurts, cereal, breads, etc.) The bartender was great - perfect mix of friendly and professional. This group had stayed at the Embassy Suites for a previous reunion and... more

I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past and have noticed a steady decline with the arrival of a new GM a couple of years ago. Before that everything was handled in a professional manner and each and every member of the staff seemed truly happy to be there. While the hotel is of course older, at... more

at first glance, this hotel is nice. the front desk area is very nice, and the lady who checked my family in was wonderful. that's about the highlight of my experience. the room was clean. the beds are VERY uncomfortable (i've never slept in a hotel that the beds are so hard, and small). and, we NEVER got clean towels!... more

We stayed here for 1 night while visiting UNC School of the Arts. It was easy to reach from Business 40. 5 minutes from downtown, 10 to the mall and 10 to Wake Forest. The breakfast was great, easy parking and clean room with microwave and fridge. Good basic room and well worth the price of less than $70. more

I had to go to this area for a business mtg and did not have a lot of money to spend and found this property online...and I must say I was very delighted with this hotel. Every experience was met with professionalism! From the check in to check out....I found that the accomodations were very comfortable, great continental breakfast which... more

I do agree with the other comments that the parking in the back lot does not seem safe. My biggest problem was double charged for the room. Thank goodness I caught it on my statement and they are crediting me the difference, but I wonder how many times that happens here. hmmmmm.. more

I've stayed at at this hotel several times in the pass and was pleasently surpised on my last visit. On previous stays, I've always experienced courteous staff and clean rooms which has been my reason for returning whenever I'm in Winston Salem. On this visit I was WOWED. The restaurant had been remodeled and the food was scrumptious, not like... more
