Love this hotel. Have stayed there twice and it will be my home away from home when visiting the Cherokee area. Owners Jim and Mary have created an inviting family atmosphere for their hotel which eases the traveler from road warrior to relaxed, cared for family member.

We stayed at the Gear Head Inn as a home base for touring along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a single story, drive in motel with a very appropriate theme for us. Our group had about a dozen people. Nice, peaceful location. Warm personal greeting upon check in, and throughout our stay. Great room with large bed, comfortable furniture,... More

We had a great time. The rooms were large, the beds comfortable and the ambiance perfect. Thanks, I'd send all my biker friends here. They are very accommodating, offer good advise with regards to the routes to take. We did Deep Creek tubing, visited Cherokee and did the "Falls " route for a ride one day - the roads were... More

We stayed here based on its very positive Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. For what it was, i.e. motel style accommodation, it was excellent. A very warm and friendly greeting from Mary on arrival, who was helpful and informative about the local area. The room was spotless, large and well appointed, nicely decorated and with a very... Had a great time there with Jim and Mary. Close to Cherokee, Bryson city, Smokies and more! Jim and Mary make you feel like true guests! In the heart of the best roads for motorcycling and touring. Rooms were large and well furnished in automotive and motorcycle themes. WIll definitely be back, thanks!

Stayed here with a group of car people in April. Jim and Mary were absolutely fantastic! They could not have made us feel more welcome. They sat around the bonfire with us each night, and were the nicest people we could hope to meet. This is an older motel, but they have done wonders with it! If you are looking... More

We went to cherokee for our honeymoon and stayed at the gear head. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the owners were extremely welcoming. The bonfire st night was a great way to meet new people. This will be our place whenever we go to cherokee!

This was our first time staying here, and we will be back. The new owners are in the process of remodeling the units, and so far they look great! The size of the rooms makes it so easy to walk around and not trip over anything. There are microwaves and fridges in the rooms and well as coffee pots. The... More
