This is the motto of Doc, the innkeeper, and he truly lives this philosophy. What a kind and generous man! He makes you feel "right at home" before you even grace the doorway. Everything is convenient and easily accessible. The breakfasts were delicious. What a wonderful "getaway" for our anniversary. We hope to return again!

Excellent stay. Room was very clean and comfortable and hospitality excellent, excellent, excellent! Breakfast was delicious and filling. Snacks and water/soda/tea and hot chocolate available as needed also along with very delicious cookies/brownies. Best bed and breakfast we've stayed at! Nice place to relax and get away. This is about the 3 or 4th B&B my husband & I have stayed in & it is the best one yet. Very nice rooms, I think all have own clawed footed tubs & nice electric remote control operated fireplace that heat up the room. I think it was the most romantic place I have ever been to. Also, nice... More

The weekend we spent at Buffalo Tavern B&B will remain in our memories as one of our all-time favorite anniversary trips. This is one very special place, and when we left on Sunday morning after another unique and bountiful breakfast, we had made many new friends, including Doc, the friendly and hospitable innkeeper. Not only is Doc a great host,... More

This was a quiet retreat on the mountain near West Jefferson, with a view of mountains, a large front yard, and the front porch rockers were very inviting. We stayed in the 2nd floor suite in the back of the historic property, which featured a poster bed, large room with footed tub, and was clean and spacious. The gourmet breakfast... More

Very nice, as others have said. There are common areas with books, magazines, brochures, etc, but it's easy to get away from other guests if you want alone time. Lovely porch and a small fridge/micro are avail for guest use. Very accomodating of guest needs whenever possible.

The Buffalo Tavern is a comfortable welcoming place that oozes charm and hospitality. Doc is a wonderful host who loves to share tales of the area and offers great options about how his guests can spend their time. He has thought all the little details to make your stay memorable and fun. And his breakfasts...don't get me started. Delicious!

We went for a night to get away from the heat and it was nice and cool! The room and the breakfast were both real nice. I would recommend this B+B.

Great place to "get away from it all!" Stayed for four days at Doc's Buffalo Tavern, as part of a week long getaway in western NC. Doc is a great resource for the Ashe county area, and won't hesitate to hook you up with things to do and places to eat. The inn has a wonderful porch, so feel free... More

The Buffalo Tavern B&B was nicely furnished and our room was spotless, but with the heat of summer upon us, we were very surprised to find that it was not air conditioned. Luckily, we were the only couple staying there, so we kept our bedroom door open to let in the breeze from the nearby porch and used a couple... More
