I just spent 4 nights here. This place is great. It is small as it has limited nightly camping. But it sits near a great waterway for fishing. The staff were excellent. The campground was clean and well kept. The bathhouses were excellent. My 7 Y/O got a kick out of using the code to get in. The restrooms are... More

This was our second stay at The Refuge. We like that this campground is close to the restaurants and shops of the Outerbanks and Roanoke Island. While at the campground we enjoy the view, the pool and attempt to fish in the pond. The internet access is pretty much non existent. Beware of the campsite borders. We were asked by... More

We weren't looking for a place with "activities for the kids" just a beautiful relaxing setting. The kids enjoyed swimming and fishing/crabbing. The weekly sites are all on the water which is a small tributary that... More

Wonderful management on site. Clean all around. Quiet area, ample lot size and space between neighbors. Great central location to North and South Outer Banks. Easy in and out. Store right next door. Only issues were the number of mosquito's because of the lake I assume and no camp fire rings.
