We found the Lazy Bear Lodge to be very quiet, clean and comfortable. The three most important things we always look for in a stay away from home. Ann and her staff were very friendly and served a great breakfast. My husband really enjoyed the blueberry pancakes. The view from our bedroom porch was beautiful. We hope to visit again... More

My husband, Bill, and I first visited the Lazy Bear when we and another couple made reservations for a long weekend in the mountains. Serene, tranquil, charming and welcoming are a just a few superlatives that come to mind about my all too short visit to the Lazy Bear Lodge. From the moment I arrived, I knew I had found the perfect get-away from a hectic travel schedule. I was greeted by the most charming souther belle Anne and her companion BO the friendliest... More

The Lazy Bear in Valle Crucis, North Carolina, a bed and breakfast inn, is a peaceful, magical place set in beautiful mountains and looking into a valley frequently filled with mist that soon disappears with the morning sun. A winding hill leads to the top of a mountain. Going toward the house you will pass under a rustic arbor into... More

My husband had never stayed at a B&B, so we decided to stay at one for the fall leaf change here in NC. Since we've always loved the Valle Crucis area, I researched B&B's in the area. When I saw the photo of the Lodge, I knew I'd found the right place. Just the drive up the mountain to the... More

We have stayed at the Lazy Bear Lodge. It only took one visit to be hooked. They make you feel at home & welcome. The Lodge is breathtaking. Rooms are comfy. A few week full of driving and staying at lovely places just like this one.

Staying at B & B's can be somewhat risky if you haven't been there before. Not so with the Lazy Bear Lodge! It is off the beaten path, but quiet and handy to all area attractions. Mark and Anne Winkelman built their lodge carefully and provide the best of everything. From the comfy beds to the tastefully decorated rooms, then... More

Everything about our stay at Lazy Bear Lodge was wonderful. It was peaceful, restful, beautiful interior & lovely landscaping/gardening/decks, inviting, friendly, clean, cozy, comfortable. The owner, Anne, is generous, kind and warm. There was a great breakfast too with a beautiful view. (I want to be back there.)
