The Melrose Inn was perfect for our stay! The room was clean and roomy, the hosts were gracious, the breakfasts were great and as an added extra bonus we had internet access! I am not generally a fan of Bed and Breakfasts but in this case we immediately felt at home. Since we do need to go to Tryon regularly... more

We love the ambience of the shabby chic Melose, and stay whenever we are travelling through the upstate. The owners(Jason and Tony) are always very gracious, and our dogs are always welcome here.Anyone seeking the plastic, cold ,manufactured atmosphere of a Holiday Inn will be dissappointed here. This is like staying with your Grandma or Auntie, and the "shabby chic" decor is part of its charm.Sophisticated... more

Please do yourself and your guests a favor and avoid this place at all costs!!! Upon arrival to the Melrose Inn - My girlfriend and me were greeted by an old woman who was smoking. She walked us inside the property and upon entering we both noticed a horrific odor amongst the property. We suspected it came from their several... more

My cousin, grandma, aunt, and I saw the Melrose Inn online and thought it was the cutest thing ever! It had a beautiful garden out front with all sorts of vibrant colors. the grass was well maintained and there was a cute little chef statue telling what was for breakfast. it also said pet-friendly, with a cute little dog on... more

I have no idea why anyone would give this place a positive review. The rooms were dirty, we had no housekeeping for the entire weekend, not enough towels and not a single staff member in sight on Saturday. When we arrived, only the housekeeper was there and she could not even help us with directions. Later that night, another party... more

We booked our room based on the positive responses we found on Trip Advisor and we were sorely disappointed with the Melrose Inn. When we arrived, my husband commented on how old the place looked and that it smelled kinda funny and was very dark, but we went ahead with our stay. When we went to our room, we were... more

I will definitely stay at the Melrose Inn every time that I can. It is truly one of the very best B & Bs that I have ever experienced. The Inn keepers are gracious and extremely accommodating. The Melrose Inn has all that you could want - rocking chairs on the porch, delicious food, great rooms, and welcoming hearts. more

We were not impressed by the Melrose Inn. Upon arrival we were greeted by the inn keepers smoking on the front porch - they were not friendly and the decor was strange at the Inn. After coming back from dinner and a movie - we were kept awake during the night by their dog and birds. The next morning we... more

One other guest described the Melrose Inn as "funky." I think "tacky" is a more accurate description. The decor was tasteless, the innkeepers were sloppy, and the food was just average. The furniture and linens in our room looked like something from a thrift store. I admit that I chose this inn for the price . . . and I... more
