For years Pinecrest was a favorite place for a special dining experience but we were sadly disappointed the other night. Were ignored when we first entered while staff joked with each other (they saw us there). Waiter was uneducated (Polly Foosay wine was offered) and inattentive. $9 side salad was uninspired. Entrees were heavy and unsuited to the season, but... more

We stayed just one night and were upgraded to the White Oak Room. This chalet type accommodation was excellent. Located opposite the main house entrance it was well fitted , clean and comfortable. We arrived circa 4pm and somehow missed the afternoon tea !! We accepted an invitation to an early evening wine tasting. this was most enjoyable trying 5... more

We made a trip for a belated annivesary celebration...great location, easy access...room was most comfortable with a fireplace, though not needed in June and lots of closet space. The bathroom served its purpose though the place is older. The highlight of the stay though was the restaurant, the chef and the serving staff. Chef Amanda is fantastic, Michelle-morning server-most professional... more

We spent two nights at the Pine Crest Inn over Valentine's Day weekend. Check in was quick and easy, and the staff was extremely friendly. The room was large and clean. The towels were luxuriously soft. The decorations were a bit flowery and the floors sloped dramatically, but it was actually charming. The only downside? The walls were fairly thin... more

The Pine Crest is on beautiful grounds. When we called to see if rooms were available, we were able to get a huge discount on one of the suites. The room was huge, and clean. The staff was friendly, courteous and accommodating at all times. They always went out of their way to help us. They provided us with travel... more

Very nice inn. Was in the "off season", and when we drove up... looking at realestate in same neighborhood, the inn appeared closed. But we got a great rate as a drive up, room was nice, fireplace was on, Port was poured. Must say the only negative on the room, was that it was a bit dated, bathroom fixtures were... more

Our IBM team had heard about the Pine Crest Inn and decided to have our planning meeting at the facility since it was easy for folks traveling in from other parts of the US. We were made very welcome even when coming in at all hours of the day and some at night. The rooms were perfect and very welcoming... more

A last minute decision to get away for Thanksgiving turned into one of our best ever thanks to the Pine Crest Inn. The charming cottages come with three-course breakfast to start your day out right. Dinner menu is exquisite, with the second largest wine list in North Carolina. The five-course Thanksgiving meal was the highlight of our stay, with wine... more

My wife and I just spent the weekend at this wonderful historic Inn. The food is outstanding--Chef Amanda is great--but the overall service is the best I have experienced anywhere in a long time. Everyone goes out of their way to may whatever you want to happen. We would recommend this Inn to anyone who wants a great getaway and... more

My wife and I stayed at the Inn 8-7-08. Our room was clean and up to date, The big surprise was the restaurant. Our sommelier, April, was great. She recommended the lamb with blueberry &merlot reduction, it was wonderful. We had a great wine(Delectus) the stuffed shrimp and the house salad with blue cheese, which was anything but your typical house... more
