This was a trip back in time...no frills just sand, surf and days on the beach! No phone in the room but who needs one..no ice machine or coffee (you do have a small machine but you bring your own) you would have to be sent to the office/store/pier entrance to fill the ice bucket which in it's self could... This is a very, very decent hotel for the price. The view is absolutely staggering from the oceanfront rooms. The rooms have a microwave, refrigerator, and nice flat screen TV. Bathroom was very clean. The beautiful beach has an easy access from the hotel. The pier is so close you can walk to it and it's $1 a person. Bars,... More

I've been going to the Jolly Roger Inn since I was a child and I've always had very fond memories of fishing with my grandparents at Topsail Beach. The Jolly Roger Inn is family-owned and they are always kind to us. The fishing pass is a little more expensive than the other piers that I've been to, but I do... More

Topsail Island is such a wonderful place to go and this will always be my go-to lodging! The first time I went to Topsail Island this was our backup lodging, but I am so glad that we ended up staying here. If I am being honest, yes, the hotel is a little out dated and could use a makeover, but... More

Just arrived back from a trip to the Jolly Roger. I have to say we enjoyed our trip and hope to go back again next year. People say things about this place but it is not suppose to be anything special. Just a place to go and kick back on the beach or to go and fish. My family goes... More

This hotel was so outdated, and the wallpaper was tearing off the walls, the handle broke on the toilet the first time I flused it, the knob to turn on the shower half of it was missing.... the kitchen had 1950 stools and counters, did not cook so not sure if the stove worked or not. We requested our money... More

The jolly Roger's Inn And Pier has been my getaway for over 20 years. It is not "fancy", but what you get is peace and serinity and nice people. The fishing is usally excellent, and you always feel like you are coming back home.

First, to explain the island: Topsail ISLAND consists of (going north to south) North Topsail, Surf City and Topsail. There are two bridges to the island: one coming onto the north end of North Topsail, or one coming into Surf City. If you come over the bridge at Surf City and can find parking during the summer months, do so.... More

The heavy intoxicating odor of mold was overwhelming. Poor view and sealed windows the only way to get fresh air was to sleep with doors open. The worst over rated hotel i have every stayed in. It was over priced and my kids begged to leave we left in the morning hours bad experience. Lady in office was very short... More

For the money we spent on this place we were extremely disappointed. We were on the Bottom floor with no view. Tiny room without a window and a door that was extremely hard to open and close. In fact the cleaning ladies left it open twice during our stay. The A.C. leaked in the floor continuously we had to put... More
