I stayed at the Moonshine Creek Campground with my now fiancé (he proposed while we were there) and would 100% recommend staying here. You can choose whether to bring your own camper, or stay in one of their cabins. We stayed in a small cabin next to the creek, and had the most relaxing time. The people managing the campground... Great campground tucked away in the mountains. We had 50 amp service for our 40 foot motor home. Was a little tight getting in there but it was worth it. Our site was on the creek which the sound was very relaxing. Fire ring and picnic table on each site. Owners, Jim and Dana, are very nice people! Met 2... More

We stayed at this campground for a week and it was beyond wonderful. The fast moving creek runs through the entire campground and the sound is so relaxing it is ridiculous. We had a campsite that was right in front of the creek which gave us that wonderful sound as well as a great setting for our evening fire. We... More

We enjoyed a lovely weekend stay while taking in the fall foliage of the western NC mountains. A 2 night at a campsite right on the creek was just what the doctor ordered. A clean, quaint, quiet slice of heaven tucked away down a winding country road. This was also our first time camping with our dog (he is a... More

Our 1st Fall camping vacation to Moonshine Creek Campground was perfect!! Dana & Jim were very friendly and accommodating. The Workcampers were also very helpful. Our site (#12) was located on the small creek. The sound of the water was very soothing & peaceful. The campground isn't huge but that's what my friend & I wanted. The sites & grounds... More

We stayed two nights in camping cabin #5. The nearest bathrooms were under construction but there were three others (including the main bathhouse) so nit a problem. We had a cabin with a loft, which we did not need, but it really added to the spaciousness. The room included a small space heater, but we brought a bigger one, which... More

We stayed here for two nights in early October 2014 and I wished we would have stayed here our entire trip. We stayed at 4 different campgrounds in the area and this was our favorite by far! The campsites are incredibly clean (they came by to empty out our fire pit ashes every morning) and ready for our arrival (not... More

Staff were terrific. Stream located feet from the back of our camper so we could hear the creek all the time. Other guest were considerate and friendly. Great clean restrooms, laundry and grounds. Campground sites beautiful. Had covered tent sites.

My husband and I LOVED our site, the staff and overall weekend stay! We were there the first weekend in October. The campgrounds and bathrooms are so well kept and clean! We had a nice leisurely stroll around the campground and enjoyed nature. We can't wait to go back with the kids, they will LOVE it too!!

A few weeks ago I told my husband I wanted to go tent camping. Husband, kids & grandkids thought I had lost my mind because we had never camped before. But, we bought a tent, cook stove, & found the old air mattress & made reservations at Moonshine Creek based upon others' reviews. We were welcomed better than family by... More
