We were driving through the area and needed to stop for the evening. Arrived without a reservation and they accommodated us. We stayed here for one night. It was an average campground outside of asheville. It didn't seem like there was much surrounding the campground. We were there on a Sunday night and not much was open other than the... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Asheville East KOA, however, there is a tremendous amount of noise from traffic at all times. The main road is visible from the campground and the train runs parallel to it. The train is not so bothersome during the day, however, on most nights you can expect to get awakened to a very loud... The kamping cabins are great!! Had no problem switching from the one room to the two room when I needed more space for other coworkers that came in. It is noisy at night because the train goes by a couple of times. The bathhouse was very very clean. The views are excellent. My coworkers thoroughly enjoyed it too. And the... More

The staff are friendly and the campground is beautiful. That is the positive. The negative: The campsites are entirely too close together. For example, our picnic table was less than 3 inches from our neighbors water spigot. When they came to wash their dishes, they might as well sat down and ate with us! Even worse is the noise heard... More

Ok, true it's a good ides to put in your earplugs when going to bed because you will hear the trains. Otherwise a 5+ because the setting along the river is as good as it gets. Mature forest, good amenities for the kids plus maintained to very high standards in our opinion. We had a special treat in that some... More

We were really looking forward to staying in one of the Cabins, before making reservations we looked at map of campground, and thought the cabin in the back would suit us as we had read all the comments of the noise. The website portrays the cabins as sleeping 6, which was perfect, as there were only 5 of us. Upon... More

There is an gorgeous lake with amazing mountains in the background. With clean campground and nice staff it should be a five star but it is too loud. Our campsite was next to check in so that amplified the noise but there was also a football game with an announcer whose voice carries throughout the site. The football game lasted... More

Our family tries to stay there at least 2-3 times a year. Excellent staff and service. Road and train noise never bothers us however we always stay on the bigger pond. Great family atmosphere and we haven't ever had a problem reserving certain sites. They are always willing to work with you.

We have used this KOA camping spot for 2 years on our way down to our daughters in Chapel Hill NC. Spots are usually drive-through for us with a truck and a 5th wheel. They are helpful when the Wifi was not working to get on-line, the campsite and washrooms are clean and well kept. There are trains that go... More

We got to this KOA around 9:00 p.m. on a Friday. By 11:30, five trains had passed, all blowing their whistles. There is also traffic noise, as this is located off of a 4 lane highway and the Interstate is on the other side of the railroad tracks. We thought about asking to move farther back in the campground but... More
