I read all the reviews before going, so I was prepared for the train noise. Luckily the cabin we had was not close enough to the tracks to be an issue. We have visited other KOA's but was surprised at how tightly packed the spots were. It was very pretty with the lakes and river. This cabin served our purpose... More

This park has great staff. The lakes are very nice and the place is very clean it would get a ten except for the trains. The pull thru sites are in the front of the park. I think the train tracks are within a football field length of the first sites. So if you don't need more than three hours... More

Great place to stay...loved the lake! Quiet place the only issue I had was with the geese....30 of them and the crap they left all over. I KNOW that these Canada geese are protected but KOA owners need to clean up after them or attempt to get rid of them.

The pros: -Great location near Black mountain -State park like river and lakes environment -Nice pool and playground The cons: -Train noise in the 50 amp section of campground, but not noticeable in the 30 amp lots on the lake. -Very busy All in all I loved this campground. Staff was friendly. We will return but I won't go to... More

Bring some earplugs - you'll need them. located next to train track that runs all hours of the night. Also had some extremely inconsiderate neighbors and when attempted to complain to owners they were nowhere to be found. Annoying ducks and geese - watch your step. Bathroom facilities nice the first night and then the weekend came and it's like... More

Haven't slept in 3 nights, between the road noise from I40, train whistles in the middle of the night, obnoxious birds (geese and ducks), and the kicker -- the campsite next to us with who knows how many people (only 6 were registered) arrived after midnight and held a profanity laced dance party until 1:45 am. Office staff doesn't answer... More

Stayed here for one night in a tent site. The staff was not very friendly when I checked in, and my tent site was tiny -- about the size of two or three parking spaces. If I had had campers on either side of me instead of just on one side, I would have felt pretty uncomfortable. When I was... More

We loved the two nights we spent at this campground. Yes there is train noise but t just adds to the experience....lonely freight trains in the night...etc. The river is a source of endless entertainment and we are so glad we secured a site on it. Ducks, kids tubing beautiful sounds...what a delight. The one negative was the way I... More

We came camping during the July 4th weekend and my daughter enjoyed it. A lot of activities and things to do. It was crowded but was expected due to the holiday. Wish there was more information regarding what you can do. We didn't know they allowed tubing on the river so we didn't bring ours but to buy one was... More

We had a chance for a quick get away so we went to our old standby for a quick campout. We've went here off and on for over 15 years. Made a reservation for a one night stay in a cabin. Reservationist stated that our room was paid for in full for $65 for two adults one teenager and two... More
