Have been coming to Spruce Pine area, specifically Penland School of Crafts for the last couple of years, always staying on the Penland campus because of the class duration. This time we were just coming for a visit, only having a day. Found out about Maggie and the inn on TA. It was a great experience. The room we wanted... More

I wish I could give this property a 10!!! It was one of the most wonderful places I have ever stayed. I travel a lot, and this was far above all expectations. My husband and I visited our son, who is studying at Penland. The Inn was perfect in every way, from its location, to its warm and gracious hosts,... More

I stayed here for one night, along with another business colleague. Beautiful area and a very comfortable, spacious, well-kept property that is an excellent value. I was impressed with the hotel-like amenities; free wifi, every room has a private bath and there was a TV in my room as well. I really enjoyed having the Butler's Pantry available 24/7 to... More

If you want a place to escape to get away and relax, this is for you. My family took me there as a surprise for my Birthday and I was in Heaven. We just love Maggie, the owner, and I just can't say enough great things about staying there. We love the breakfast's that she fixes every morning and she... More

Had a great stay here, the innkeeper was very accommodating, she was perfectly friendly and sweet to our toddler who stayed with us. The breakfast buffet was delicious! A plus for us were the friendly cats and dogs that belong to the owners.

Spend 2 nights at the Ricmond Inn. Great accomodations and the breakfasts were delicious. The Inn is well decorated with a nice courtyard to enjoy a glass of wine. It's a quick drive up the mountain to Penland School of Craft. We will make a return visit.

A very comfortable place to stay ... a practically the only one in the area. Our suite consisted of a large room with a king-sized bed, desk, chest of drawers, rocker, sofa, TV, extra twin bed and armchair. Maggie was an extremely friendly host who served an excellent breakfast. Our only complaint was the barking dog, but I don't think... More

A wonderful, hospitable Inn. Accommodations are excellent yet period. Very comfortable and spacious room. Very clean and nicely appointed. Breakfast area and common table enhance the B & B experience. A very welcoming atmosphere.

Our family (7 of us) stayed here for several days. We were here to attend a family wedding in the area. Maggie went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The decor is charming, the rooms are immaculate, and the breakfasts are delicious. Our children were completely charmed by Maggie's friendly dog and cat! All of... More

First off the owner Maggie makes you feel right at home. We brought our dinner in and she gave us access to the kitchen and dining room. Rooms are well decorated and very clean! We would go back. The only downside was the breakfast which was a letdown lacking quantity and diversity.
