We had booked the Mountain View 6 for two nights. The cabin is smaller compared to some of the cabins we have rented for the same price. Bathrooms are small with the shower heads corroding and the stove in the kitchen only had one burner that worked right. The management had turned on the fireplace since we called ahead and... More

My wife and I had a really nice time here, but this is not a KOA campground. Light is minimal, and despite the enormous number of campsites, you will feel isolated and alone. I happened to think this was a great asset. It's an interesting mix of convenience and wilderness. While right off the Parkway, the road is a little... More

Beautiful surroundings. Nice locals. 1st time renting the honeymoon plus cabin. The jacuzzi is IN the living/dinning/bedroom. You smell the chemically treated water the majority of the time you're in the cabin. The handle on our toilet was broken & the shower was clogged. We placed a requested to have it fixed. They came same day to fix the shower,... More

The family stayed at Bear Den, we rented one of the family cabins. The cabins are nice, but as far as sleeping 6 I think that’s a joke. The sofa that opens into a bed should be removed from the cabin; it would be softer sleeping on the floor, no springs sticking you in the back. Remember the beds are... More

Stayed for three nights in one of the cabins that sleep four. Cabin was what you expect, the beds need to be replaced. No support in mattress. Be prepared to get no sleep and the pull out sofa bed is a joke!! You have to walk to camp fire site to have a fire which defeats the whole experience. They... More

Campground was overpriced for the condition of the roads coming in off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nice campground for tent camping but not for an rv. Felt like we were going to turn over on the bad roads entering the campground. If driving a nice rv stay away from this place. Might consider going back someday if the management... More

Campground is isolated with curvy, gravel, steep roads. Paid $40 for water and electricity only. One would have to drive to the office as site for our RV was far from the office. Adults and children riding through on golf carts constantly. This campground may be best for cabin rentals and groups. I could have gone five miles up the road and... More

Bear Den campground is a very family friendly place. It is IN THE MOUNTAINS...so for those of you afraid of non-level terrain, I advise you to camp in Georgia or Florida, etc...NOT THE BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS...because, YES....THE HILLS ARE STEEP!! The sites can be tough to navigate with a trailer, etc...so again...if you don't think you can do it...DON'T CAMP... More

I've read the other reviews...let me reiterate that this is a campground in the mountains, which means it has topography (hills, steep terrain, etc.) and the roads aren't perfectly paved (most are graded with gravel). We reserved a camping cabin because it was supposed to rain during our stay. It was literally 4 walls and a roof with beds, a... More

We booked a site here for the weekend of Independence day after calling and asking if there was a level-ish site with no drop-offs or large hills that my 3-yr-old special needs son could fall down. When we got there the entire campground was literally on a mountain and the site we book surrounded by drop-offs. The sites were slammed... More
