Take a trip back in time and fall in love with Mid Pines. The golf course is amazing, the food is great, the staff is sweet, and the Inn has enough charm to knock your nickers off! Nothing is updated nor new, but I would like it less if it was. I'm not a tall guy, so the beds and... More

Mid Pines is truly a centre for southern charm, welcoming gracious service, and excellent food - as well as a top notch Donald Ross golf course - pleasant to the eye and a challenge for every level of player. We have been staying and playing here every USA Thanksgiving week for 10 years, and the constant attention to maintenance and... More

This hotel is lovely if you're a golfer or if you are looking for a conference location. However, the musty old place drove my allergies nuts! Some in our group stayed across the street at the Pine Needles which is about 30 years newer and they had more relief. The service at both places was friendly and other commenters' praise... More

Living in the area for a few years now, I don't know how I missed this gem. Their Signature Brunch this morning was the best in the area. I think I've been to most of the Country Club brunches along with most of the larger restarants in the area. From the time we strolled in, we were treated like family.... More

I stayed at both Pine Needles Resort and this hotel. Both are different but enjoyable experiences. This is an old hotel and club whose former pro was Julius Boros. The hotel is unique and quite quaint. The rooms are on the smaller side and the bathrooms are small, but that is what life was like in the 1920's. You are... More

We stayed at the Dogwood Villa at Mid Pines for a couples golf trip. The Villa is not too impressive from the outside but the interior was fantastic and had great views of hole 1 and 9. We spent a fair amount of time at the Inn. It is dated, as expected, but a charming place. Food service was little... More

I just enjoyed two wonderful days/nights at Mid-Pines Resort in Southern Pines, NC. The staff was extraordinarily helpful, anticipating almost every need. The food was also excellent from appetizer to desert. And one of the best bartenders (Christian) that I have ever met. The golf course was built in 1921and has hosted many high level tournaments. Former LPGA Pro Peggy... More

Charming Inn circa 1921. Unfortunately, common area carpets are wrinkled and filthy. Rooms are small, as you would expect from this era. Bathroom was so small it was claustrophobic. Place has allot of potential and the golf course is wonderful. Current owner needs to make a serious investment before we would think of returning.

The Hotel is a great old charmer. The staff is the best , friendly, and welcoming. The hotel has had some changes and could use a little more (interior) cosmetic work. The formal dining room has a great feel to it and is very comfortable, menu is a mix of entries that come out of the kitchen in excellant form... More

Old is the key word here. Some like traditional while others prefer contemporary. For those who like to step back in time this is an affordable resort you can consider. Nothing fancy here and clearly substantial money needs to be spent in the very near future. Despite that Mid Pines does deliver "old world" and it is a lovely setting.... More
