Recently traveled back from Florida heading home to Virginia. Stopped off in Smithfield because I was dead tired. Came off the exit and saw the Master Inn and pulled up. I ran a quick check on my phone and saw that it had negative reviews. There didn't appear to be many occupants that night and I didn't notice any "drug... More

When we arrived, the office attendant was pleasant, and that's where the pleasantness ends. As we walked to our room, we passed a drug dealer, a prostitute and a transvestite. Upon entering the room, my boyfriend noticed a roach (the bugs came later) on top of the broken refrigerator. Next, we saw the AC unit held up by a 2x4,... More

Shady hotel. First red flag was the hooker leaving one of the rooms as we arrived. One of the beds wasn't made and the water in the tub was running when we got there. To top it all off someone tried to break in early in the morning. Dangerous place if you have a family

This place was all that we could see when we drove into the town tired and bleary eyed. The front desk attendant was pleasant and helpful, but the room itself was abysmal. The floor was uneven and you could feel globs of cement under your feet. The tv did not work properly. The bed itself was okay, but I dared... More

Floors stained. Lamps ripped. Telephone from a days inn and broken. Mattresses brown and stained and ripped. All bed sheets stained. Bed had a black big on it. Tables, backboards to beds, and tv stand chipped carpets stained. Horrible place uncomfortable to be in. NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN!

We stayed there one night (10/08/2012), which was one night too many. Our room smelled like cat urine, I understand the hotel is pet friendly but this is ridiculous, I have a pet myself and if she soiled the room I would have cleaned it myself. On top of the cat urine smell was the overpowering odor of mildew. The... More

We had just left Kissimmee Florida very early in the morning and had driven until about 8 or 8:30 and when we got to Selma we were exhausted so we pulled into The Masters Inn as it looked on the outside like a pretty good motel to spend the night. We rented the room and the desk clerk was very... More

I went there well over a year ago and will always remember this place as the worst hotel experience ever. The people that run it are dispicable. We had trouble booking another hotel down the road so went to this one to try to get two rooms. We waited a long time to get in and once we got in... More

Making the I-95 trip from FL to NJ several times a year we look for bargains in motels when we can find them. In the coupon book this hotel seemed to fill the bill and was approved by AAA (I've also written to them to share our experience). The motel was almost empty - this should have been our first... In the Roomsaver coupon book, it sounded decent. It was the worst hotel I've ever been to. Even the TP holder was broken.
