Quaint, yes. Interesting location, yes. But with toilets that don't flush, no lights,no hot water and no toilet paper in women's facilities - and no sign of any cleaning having been done for ages, this place really isn't worth handing over money ($20) for. With 2 couples & 2 vans we drove out yesterday 3.6.14. Overgrown, old signage, unkept. Walked around for an hour, banged on locked front door (1pm) , then phoned & a man answered & said they were open. How he failed to notice 4 people, 2 vans & 4wds roaming around is a mystery. Yes the gate is shut at night -it keeps the cows out We planned to stay for one night and stayed for three. The facilities are basic: but the water is hot and there is power and potable water. The Lodge is open for business as usual. For fellow travellers that are unused to the Bush...remember that Gates are shut to keep animals in or out of private property. drove out to Old Halls Creek Lodge in the early evening (dark) and found that it was locked up with a for sale sign on it. When we went back into town the Halls Creek Carvan park advised us that it closed two weeks ago. Lou
