We were very surprised to find tnis oasis in the outback, beautiful grassy caravan sites with lots of space. The place looks great. Facilities were clean and excellent. The restaurant had a great menu with a great wine list.

Dear RobertKaren, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us here at Fitzroy River Lodge. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay here in our caravan park. I have only recently joined the team here and was also pleasantly surprised by the large grassed area in the camping ground. I have passed your comments onto our... More

We have stayed at Fitzroy River Lodge on three occasions. Once in their outrageously overpriced rooms, twice in their camp grounds. The only reason for staying there is that it's the only place within 300 km in either direction. For the prices they charge, the rooms are ordinary, the camp ground infested with ants, and the staff seem to think... More

This was a very nice, modern, clean, cool and comfortable motel room. Then again, at over $200 a night for a standard room, it should be! Keep in mind though that this is generally what you pay up in this corner of Australia; there’s an accommodation shortage, so they’ve got you by the short and curlies. The motel (and caravan... More

I really appreciated the lodge squeezing us into staff/overflow quarters when the campground was otherwise full. My partner and i enjoyed a very nice meal in the restaurant and i really appreciate the front desk service, in particular from Todd, which was pleasant and efficient. We were made to feel very welcome after a long day of travelling.

Only here for one night but quickly warmed to the location and accommodation. Parking underneath stilted rooms - getting luggage up steep outside stairs was awkward but the room was fine. The place is remote and just far enough away from the road for it not to influence sleep. Pleasant walks up and down the river. Food is basic but... More

Camped on a powered site for one night & have no complaints whatsoever. We were able to pick a site, all of which were quite large. The amenities & campground were spotless... Arrived at 7 pm & left 12hours later so I can't comment on camp kitchen or restaurant unfortunately but we enjoyed our stay & had a great night's... More

Stayed here for one night as I had business in Fitzroy. It is a bit out of Fitzroy, so you are depending on transport if you do not have a rental. the rooms were average, had an upstairs room. 2 beds, kitchen corner and bathroom. All old, but acceptable. Clean. Needs definitely refurbishment. Internet needs to be paid for !!... More

When traveling from Katherine to Broome, you do have few choices to stay. Fitzroy River Lodge is not that bad place, except for the bugs. The powered site is very big, and you can choose which you like. Not too many people at this moment. Kitchen is quite big with a TV on its wall. At the back of the... More

Stayed at the lodge for 2 weeks for work, in a safari tent which was quite satisfactory. Friendly staff, cold beer, great meals - especially the pizzas. No problem recommending to anyone who wants to experience the crossing. One suggestion - would be good to see some local Aboriginal staff.

When staying somewhere like Fitzroy River this place is the best you'll get. On check-in I thought the staff at Reception were great but it turned out to be just that particular girl. We were given a room at the back of the Lodge and because the rooms are all upstairs we felt we had a good view of the... More
