Had a fantastic meal at the boab inn on Friday 24th April 2015 of oven baked Threadfin in Salmon while enjoying a cold drink. The fish was cooked beautifully it was sweet and juicy. The bar staff were very helpful and efficient. Even though it's like travelling back to the 70's this pub had a real local feel about it.

March 2015 has brought a new chef at the boab inn and sadly meals are now really disappointing. In 2014 the boab was THE BEST pub to eat at in Derby, head and shoulders above the Spinifex (which is a lot flasher). The burger is a patty from the supermarket with craft singles for cheese (what?!), gone is the Parmi's... More

You enter the Boab Inn by way of the bar and on first impressions, it looked as if it would be another rough meal, taken from the bar counter. However a local resident pointed the way through a side door into a plush lounge with the restaurant divided off on a higher level and surrounded by a low wall. An... More

We stopped in here for lunch today whilst touring the historical areas of Derby. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality and size of the meals!!! Great value as well. 6 adults and 1 child ate various meals and no complaints from anyone. We were served by a very nice young german lady who couldn't do enough for us.....ice cold... More

Although we weren't staying at the Inn, we went for a few afternoon drinks with friends, we decided we would return in the evening for a meal. After being shown to our seat, we were left there unattended while the 2 young girls, lent on, and chatted behind the counter. We had to approach them to ask, whether they would... More

The positives are there is a small pool that is/was clean, the parking gates are shut at night making it harder for your car to be stolen/broken into (yes, it is a genuine issue in Derby). I stayed in a room for a few nights, and the best thing I can say was that the staff were helpful, but the... More

I suppose $205 per night for a single bed, pokey little room that is run down with an ensuite that is in desperate need of refurbishment in the middle of the Kimberley at the height of the northern tourist season is reasonable? Actually, no it's not. The positive side was a comfy and relatively new bed with soft and fluffy... More

I booked in late in the afternoon and this was the only Motel/Hotel and I got the only room left. The room had two singles in what looked like old mine camp buildings. It was clean but badly in need of renovations. The single bed was comfortable - but the walls paper thin, the fellow in the adjoining room snored.... More
