We failed at finding snow (even though it was forecast), but the Breathtaker made it a pleasant trip. It may not be the fanciest hotel in Mt Buller, but it has the best activities and Day Spa in it which means you can spend an entire day without leaving the hotel if needed. Food is great too.

My title is unfortunate as I went as a couple but it is a great place for Families as there is a play room an adults only area in the spa to get away from the kids if needed and a comfortable bar to relax in. As a couple I would avoid booking on the second floor as this was... More

Was lucky enough to visit Breathtaker at the end of June before the peak season rate rise and after (and during) a dump of snow. I stayed in a studio apartment…the room was cosy, the bed was comfy, ipod stereo, TV and DVD player, and great to have a kitchenette to self-cater. The buffet breakfast had a great selection of... We stayed here over the Easter break, after an bad experience at another horrible hotel , we checked in here at the last minute as it was a little pricey, but on stying here it was worth every penny. The staff were outstanding , very attentive and helpful at every request. Breakfast was a delight. Since it was out of... More

We went to this hotel in summer - 2014, hoping to escape the scorching Melbourne heatwave. The hotel is quite a distance from the village center - not a problem if you have a car. It has very few parking spaces, and the road up the ramp to the hotel parking was rather poorly maintained with potholes. I think we... More

We've stayed at Breathtaker a number of times, both as a family and as a couple. The hotel is in my opinion the best of the mountain, however the quality is less than you'd expect for the exhoribitant prices they charge and when compared to ski resorts overseas or hotels in the city. The rooms are small, clean and modern,... More

Despite there being no snow and Mt Buller reservations agreeing that there is no skiing available, the hotel will not honour their "no snow guarantee". Very rude when we explained the situation to them. A complete joke. Don't believe it - they will never say there is "no snow" - even when the runs for the "open" lifts are closed.... More

A huge amount of resources are put in to snow making on Mount Buller in an effort to ensure as many lifts are open for as long as possible throughout the snow season. Of Course no hotel can guarantee snow for your winter holiday - (We only wish we could!), but what we can do is abide by the "snow... More

Stayed in breath taker for three days on our trip to mt buller. It was our first time skiing and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and how easy the hotel made it to ski in/ski out. Room was spotless and a good size for the price. Bathroom and bedroom has really good heaters which was good for the climate. Most... More

We had the privilege of being upgraded to a suite in light of a dinner event that was held in the hall on the same floor as our originally designated room. The staff were kind enough to move us to a suite to ensure we had a restful evening after a tough day on the slopes. Big thank you to... More

Did not arrive with great expectations (although the price at $660.00 a night should have guaranteed that!) given it is only the Victorian slopes after all and accomodation is usually below par other parts of the world with inflated prices. This place is really quite nice though! Spotlessly clean (and I do mean SPOTLESS) and close to the chair lifts... More
